What innovative, smart choreography. Stanford students obviously can be counted on to absorb the routine and perform so well. So exciting to see. I graduated Mother Stanford meaningfully before this was an option. So, there's a full twinge of jealousy flowing through my veins. Thanks guys and ladies for this delightful, raucus performance.

You are never to old to learn and join or start your own dancing society.

Where a gymnastic display meets the ballroom!. Spectacular as this is, I much prefer earlier Stanford offerings where the elegance of the waltz was more dominant. Ah well, this trend is what I as a mere Aussie expect of America.

This is too much like show biz. I miss the earlier years opening performances. Those ones had real class.

It's a nice start for Stanford. I hope each future Viennese Waltz Ball can be simplified to highlight the waltz itself. These dances mixed in a little too much silly modern dance. It's not too difficult to make the waltz work, almost as simple as one, two, three. The lighting also might be more subtle, and would it be too difficult for Stanford to bring in a real orchestra? Check out how Andre Rieu presents the Blue Danube, and you'll be on your way to a celebration of the waltz in all its beauty.

Wish the photographer in front would stay in o s spot - out of the camera range!

Yes indeed! It was difficult to move the camera away from that photographer. Thanks for your understanding!

un puntino più veloce sarebbe risultata più gradevole e in stile con le Schnell-Polka di Vienna, così è un po' troppo lenta.

Not beautiful. I think they could have lifted the ladies by the waist and not under their rear ends.

Why are none of the ladies men? If 3 of the "consorts" are femmes, why is there no return favor on the women's side? It's sooooo BAY AREA! :-) Also, the choreography's too complicated for most of them who are non-dancers -- so it looks awkward and forced.

It's an amateur show. Why knock that. As to male/female, my guess is there was a shortage of males; hence the gals performed the male role. Way back before the earth cooled, it was very common in dance class to have many more females than males. Your desire to invoke sexuality is imho totally off kilter here.
