Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life's setbacks -- including death itself -- at the university's 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005.

It's a shame he lacked wisdom in other areas: "Jobs resisted his doctors' recommendations for medical intervention for nine months,[165] in favor of alternative medicine. Other doctors agree that Jobs's diet was insufficient to address his disease. However, cancer researcher and alternative medicine critic David Gorski wrote that "it's impossible to know whether and by how much he might have decreased his chances of surviving his cancer through his flirtation with woo. My best guess was that Jobs probably only modestly decreased his chances of survival, if that."[166][167] Barrie R. Cassileth, the chief of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's integrative medicine department,[168] on the other hand, said, "Jobs's faith in alternative medicine likely cost him his life ... He had the only kind of pancreatic cancer that is treatable and curable ... He essentially committed suicide".[169] According to biographer Walter Isaacson, "for nine months he refused to undergo surgery for his pancreatic cancer - a decision he later regretted as his health declined""

"Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." There is no other speech that captivated me like this one. I am an entrepreneur, and it's been a decade. There were more lows than highs in these ten years. Whenever I feel low or depressed, or overly joyful, I come back here to hear these great words. It is powerful! as it is nothing but the truth. This speech is more valuable for me than my iPhone or MAC. Thank you, Steve Jobs, for inspiring me and many more like me to continue the road less traveled. Your speech ignites the much-needed fire and provides a thrust when it is most required. I wish and pray you be blessed in heaven. Thank you!

Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future.., I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life!!

Steve's "reality distortion field" only worked on people - not nature. He was able to make people see his vision for an amazing future. Unfortunately, as Richard Feynman, the great physicist said, " "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." Thanks, Steve. You did, indeed, do what you said you wanted to do - "make a dent in the universe".

Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address is a timeless masterpiece that resonates with me on a deeply emotional level. His words are a poignant reminder that our time on Earth is limited, and we must have the courage to follow our hearts and intuition. The vulnerability and authenticity in Jobs' speech are truly inspiring, as he shares his own personal journey of setbacks and triumphs. This address has the power to awaken a sense of purpose within each of us, urging us to embrace our passions and make a meaningful impact in the world. @@mexicanlucky Okay, I have watched it and most of what the guy there says seems pretty reasonable, but somehow the quintessence of the talk is just that Jobs could have not been saved, but maybe eaten a bit healthier and some statements about the case were apparently wrong! There are still two other options that were not mentioned though: First of all, doctors could maybe have diagnosed and treated him way before 2003 and secondly, maybe the treatments he underwent until 2011 were just not enough!

@@eswarjuri Fair, even having an almost vegan diet did not save him, but, my humble opinion is that he died the day he let his health on doctors hand and set foot on a hospital. That's just the way I see things. And if you search for "Doctor, cancer, steve jobs" most blam his diet, like he was a fool, this is almost unknown most bright people have very healthy disciplines. Food is super important for the brain.

I watched this 6 years ago, it transformed my life ever since, today I watched it again, I cried again. Steve was so awakening to his existence.

I was born and live in china, the intense culture conditioning brainwashed me to be the person what my parents wanted me to be, yet I felt deep inside I was caged with their expectation, from Steve’s speech, I found strength, I backpacked to many countries and tried so many different things (jobs and adventures), I finally realized life is a journey to discover your true nature, and be it, though it’s not really always rainbows and butterflies, yet in general I found Joy and Peace along the way. Thank you for asking, it reminded me how blessed I am to have this life.

Why does it have anything to do with born in China?

@@kellyyunqianwei5882 I think it has to do with the culture and expectations of family values that are instilled in some eastern parts of the world. Like she said, she was able to "free herself" from the path that was expected of her from her parents.

Here I am watching this for 100+th time on my newly bought iPhone. Thank you Steve. The only video that I watched uncountable times during my final year of btech. You just helped me crack my first full stack job offer. There is no single day where I forgot to remember your words from this video. Thank you sooo much. I wish I could time travel and meet you 🥺🙇🏻

Here's a man who found out what he wanted, and knew how to get it. Steve Jobs understood life. This is a true success story, to me. Even if people say he was a jerk, well, sometimes you have to be a dick to get what you want. If someone tells you that you can't achieve something, you give them a big "up yours" and do it. Never succumb to negativity.
