Thank you for the short but great synopsis! I have struggled with trying to find a good knee assessment for injuries.

What specifically do you mean by "old injury"? What is the pathology? Torn meniscus? Torn in an avascular area without healing? Joint mouse? Is there underlying bone reaction to the old injury?

This is a synopsis, not a detailed explanation.

@@williamwinder5011 Scarcely recall having made the comment. I must have been having a bad day. The subject answered the question. The Lachman test should have been done and gradations of positivity explained.

is it normal to have such ROM in multiple completely torn ligaments?
@J10Wilshere
@J10Wilshere 4 жыл бұрын
Majid the ligaments will not affect how much ROM you have, they will only provide stability. I had completely snapped ACL, MCL, LCL & Meniscus and was able to comfortably get full ROM plus hyperextension back before op

Really great quick review for the knee by a very affable personality. I could really visualise the positive ACL test in Vijay's Left knee which was quite useful. I thought there was a slight sag too... Thank you for the presentation. Perhaps in the future you could also clarify for each movement which side you are testing; medial collateral and lateral collateral respectively as well as the medial meniscus and lateral meniscus. Although I know the motions well I get a bit confused as to which side I'm test of these parts. Thanks again!

nice, but you could have demonstrated pivot shift and jerk test, they are really important for the ACL assessment.

good exam. way harder when people have swelling and are in pain. can be very difficult to do the exam-- this is the whole problem with the knee exam. you will cause a ton of pain moving an injured acl etc around.
