Stanley Baxter along with Benny Hill, Morecambe and Wise and the two Ronnie were the masters of the sketch show. We truly lived through its golden age, when our comedy stars and shows were perfection ⭐️

Can't believe I've finally found this episode! Was 11 when this first aired! Think of Stanley every time I clean my teeth because of his 'Squeeze me at the bottom and not the top' toothpaste routine towards the end of this! Many thanks for posting it!

John Birt axed the shows at LWT as he thought they cost too much money. Michael Grade moved to BBC and took Stanley with him for Xmas specials in 85 and 86. Then sadly John Birt replaced Grade at the Beeb and sacked Baxter again.

It's always puzzled me that so, SO many actors/comedians (and even men in the non-theatrical arena) through the years have gotten off on playing women - it's not funny, THEY'RE not funny doing it, and so it seems strange that it's such an obsession for them.
