Come on naysayers, the music is out there we just have to look for it, no different than back then. We're older now, we don't listen to pop radio (and because we're coming out of the swirl generation) into Reagan's administration 80's Duran Duran, Rick Astley but Elvis Costello made some of his best stuff, Funkadelic some of their best stuff, music lovers find it. Look at Kamasi Washington's latest. Maybe I don't make the time to look like I did back then. Sorry, a beautiful, wonderful song.

"artitstic fakes, not artists have taken over" the most successful musical celebrities in our time are vapid popstars. talentless as most of them are, it is disingenuous to call them fakes they make no pretense of artistry. those who listen to them and their musical products do not care for such things. they arent fake because they make no claim to be real. the intended audience doesnt care otherwise

@@stoshrice4060 , its ridiculous when people use the its out there, you have to look for it bulls__t. ITS NOT OUT THERE. THE MUSICAL LANDSCAPE IS FILLED WITH TALENTLESS CRAP. What a treat! I never even dreamed these two actually made a video for this song. The 70's music have the best feeling. The early 80's music is worth listening to for inspiration as well. Today's music is such a spiritual and mental let down. A majority of it is made by dysfunctional, for the dysfunctional. But not at all made for everyone abroad the spectrum. Anyways. I was going into my senior year in high school that fall and I’m telling you, even youngsters knew good, quality entertainment such as Sir Duke, Stanley Clark, EWF, Lee Ritenour, Michael Franks~ (there’s so many more I haven’t mentioned…I apologize not mentioning you) So it was a must that I own this album back in ‘81 I listen to this song and all the things that were happening in my life come rushing in like a tidal wave! Nothing but nice, mellow vibes… the world has changed however. Music has changed as well. I digress. Happy am I to have witnessed better days…Mr Clarke, you’ve made part of my growing up a whole lot sweeter like the fruit from a blessed garden! Words just cannot capture the music of my heartbeat : thank you, so kindly! And Sir Duke, I just know you’re having the best time up in that great jazz festival in the sky!! Thank you! We love the both of you legends!!

Released just after my 18th birthday, I went out and bought this LP --- and even at the time, I was thinking, "why am I buying this old people's album,' but the songs on the record were just phenomenal and the musicianship was just so delightful to the ear and to hear. Clarke on the upright bass and George on the 88s! But back in the 80s, seeing the video of the song was darn near next to impossible --- so LONG LIVE THE TUBE! #facts #each1teach1

Man, this tune is like a time machine that transports me to a specific moment in my life: spinning records (yes, LPs) at KMOO in 1981, sitting at the back door smoking a twist as the sun was setting, and the last few notes of "Sweet Baby" playing in the background... then, silence. Dead air, stoner! Start the next 45! (LOVED that job!!!)

Feel the same, only I was in LA listening on K EARTH ! Duke had another great song around the same time called SHINE ON that had a lot of air play in LA as well! Great tune!

PLEASE take me back to 1981, where my Strawberry Shortcake Dolls were the thing to have, & my scented stickers, an active Girlscout in a Troop, along with rollerskating on a Friday Night! NOTHING was better than that!
