A handkerchief works just as well for debris and weighs far less. I personally my Stanley cup in a crown royal bag. It keeps noise down and doubles as a debris filter.

It works like a millbank bag to remove suspended particles from water before you put it through a filter. Your filter lasts longer if you use one of these, so a millbank bag soon pays for itself.

I have a bunch of canvas I stocked up on when that one fabric chain store went out of business. Also a lot of leather from the amish leatherworking shops up the road. I REALLY need to get busy making some bags. I like the milk bags for filtration due to waxing my canvas. My stanley kit always has a bandana or 2 in there, though. That reflectix stanley cup coozie using aluminum ac tape that I made works great for dehydrated meals. Another great stanley cup vid. TC and ATB, Cris.

How about a green scotch pad cut round the same size as the lid to clean the pot and stop the rattling. Also if the bag had D rings on the sides you could carry a water bottle in it with a strap just a thought! Attached with 4 rivets with a backing so it doesn’t pull through. I’m on a roll here enjoy your channel.

I like a lot of your videos but you’re advocating a $40.00 bag purchase when a wise person could buy a few yards of canvas from Walmart and make that bag for about $10-$15.00 including needle thread and a few snaps……. I like making or transforming my gear but in an emergency I would use the leg of my pants before I would part with $40.00 to strain water…. Sorry just pointing something out…..
@WayPointSurvival2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. Not everybody wants to sew their kit but for those that do I understand.
@AutoEngineerVideos3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but your way of wetting the bag is rubbish! You're getting dirt all over the outside of the bag, so your strained water won't be as clean as it would've been if you hadn't stirred up all the mud.
