As a veteran, I love survival vids. One thing I think they all miss is... anti non-purification recovery methods ie: bring lots of antidiarrhea tabs. water treatment is great but bring anti-runs meds !!! bad water, truck stops, etc bring 'em

My favorite kind of hack with 100% skill and a dash of effort. Works anywhere in the world and materials are free or cost very little. Bravo on a great project. Hmmm, with a DIY metal spreader I am thinking some of our camp pots could be modified to use this hack. My Greek neighbor back home had a neat bumper sticker, "IT'S GREAT TO BE GREEK." I hope your friend sees that one.

Brilliant idea your pal came up with! Thanks for sharing it! I've been missing the "Stanley ' videos
@geoffupton2 жыл бұрын
brilliant! so simple and so useful! 😊 what next... a whole campsite with it? a steam water purifier? (steam water then water drips into another cold container and removes anything bad, like brewing!) some form of gas mask filter? a fire pit? anything nobody has thought of? loving this series! its so... useful! you took a good but limited bog standard cooking set and made it into a near full kitchen cooking set of things! what will you do next?! keep creating! 😊

Now that is cool James, that way you don't have to carry all that metal stuff that you stick in the ground and slide it up and down the metal rod. All you need you carry is the one stick that you carved the dovetail in, cool very cool. Thanks for the video and teaching us how to do that. Stay vigilant!

I do something similar with a 'Y' stick at an angle slightly less than 1/2 the angle of the 'Y' and the clip of the pot handle in the crotch of the 'Y' (hope that makes sense) but I like the adjustability of this method. Thanks for yet another tool on the belt.

Reminds me of the "dingle stick" Method. Hugh mcmanners talked about it in his book. It's a forked post that hangs your pot over the fire. Easily adjusted, just tighten or loosen it for up or down.

@@WayPointSurvival James me and tech don;t get along!! i'm lucky to be able to get around on here let alone do anything else like that! if this thing didn't auto update it's still be running on windows 7!! but i used the band clamp and bail handle technique from the videos you made on the homemade bushpot and the stanley mod with the band clamps, the top was notched at the handle hinge (although the bottom clamp does want to slide down! i think i'm going to have to shorten the handle a bit to get farther away from that taper!) and i nipped the ears on the handle so i can take it off when i don't want it!
