Being a former serving Royal Marine Commando, if I had one of these whilst on exercise, I wouldn't have become cold in -14 temperatures in the Highlands of Scotland. This thing is fantastic. I use it every morning, fits right on my 1 litre Stanley thermos and its super simple to clean. I usually would use cheap instant coffee before, but this is almost as fast and much better coffee

Excellent how to video. Thank you! We are kicking the keurig out, and moved a set of gorgeous limited edition stanley pour overs in to take it's place. We also have a nice pot brewer, a lovely glass French press, and espresso pots, all of which have had a lot of use over the years. I was easily able to make a cup of coffee following your steps. Absolutely DELICIOUS!

no different to a plunger/french press approach but more camping friendly to clean up - which is perfect for a mug of coffee

STOP: First, take your chosen mug or cup, nearly fill with water, then pour it into an EMPTY kettle. When heated, you will have the correct amount of water so you won't overfill your mug or cup. Also, only heating the amount of water you need, you will save energy - simple.

@@zulu1316 Are you serious? 1) Take your mug/cup and fill it to the brim with water. 2) Pour the water into an empty kettle. 3) Heat water to no more than 90 degrees C - no need to boil the water when making real coffee. 4) If quantity of your your brew is insufficient, simply top up with cold water - it's now ready to drink ... simple!

finding the appropriate coarseness seems to be the challenge. i never got a nice cup out of this one. Either it barely drained through or the grit makes it's way into the cup. Not a fan.

I've heard good things about this pour over kit. I'm actually really excited for you to venture into the world of pour over! It's really a hobby because there's so much you can learn and fun tools and setups to toy around with. This Stanley set does seem like a hybrid of a pour over and french press. I imagine it's a lot easier to clean than a french press when on the go. Since you like the taste of coffee from a reusable metal filter, I think you'll like french press.

yes, it was the kit with the mug. this was just for the pour over filter itself. I debated about posting, I will do better at concentrating on new products. Better off with a Bodum Chambord French Press...more control and better tasting coffee....no guessing either

Naw, that type of system is horrible, this stanley coffee dripper makes good coffee withh no bitter taste to it, it took 4 minute to it final drip, then I taken a spoon to stir out the last little bit of liquid my time making coffee in it today. 1 tblsp of coffee per 4oz of water, I added 5 tblsp to 10 ozs of water Peets coffee is my favorite brand
