I am very happy for you to have received those classic Stanley tools. I have spent much money for all of the old Stanley tools that I have and truly treasure them. I hope you get the same joy out of yours.

I am pleased to have found your channel, and am your 39th subscriber! Every now and then, I go through my tools and find some lovely oddity that I haven’t used in a while, pull it out, and ponder the people who have used it. Some of my tools have three or four generations of initials on them, and I am happy to add mine.

@@troon5488 thanks for subscribing. It's good to imagine the hands that held them, and what they made with those old tools.

I always thought of Stanley as quality tools. For some reason I thought they cam from Sheffield. Was middle-aged before I found out that Stanley is a U.S. company.

My dad bought me a Stanley no. 4 for my 13th birthday. I've just been to check. It's still in it's original box, keep it razor sharp. Use it often. Box says Made In Sheffield. England

P.S. In-laws bought me a Stanley 90 (rabbet plane?) for my 1st Christmas present after we married. Use it often. Still in original box, labeled Made In Sheffield England. PS. 69 yo,

@@Charstring Yes I thought it started in Sheffield too. Obviously the American Stanley knew if they opened in Sheffield they would tap into the skilled workers needed to make the quality tools we all search for.
