I like mine with Rittenhouse rye, demarera syrup, 3 dashes of bitters, and a cherry. I also use scotch, maple syrup, different bitters. I usually make it different each time.

Who doesn't want to be Stanley tucci? That was pretty entertaining. I love how he decided to taste it twice before he handed it to the woman recording the video. Priceless! For those of you that like cinnamon, make your own cinnamon simple syrup, plenty of videos on here to show you how and super easy to do. A teaspoon or 2 in a burboun or rye old fashioned and that is the only way you will ever drink an old fashioned. Top it off with a twist of the rind of an orange peel around the rim of the glass and garnished with a few blueberries on a skewer and you've got yourself a fantastic beverage. Enjoy.

He did it backwards. You mix the sugar and bitters first. Then you incorporate the rye or whiskey. Finally pour it over a chilled big ice cubed glass. Top it off with orange zest.

I've noticed most recipes stopped calling for the cherry over the last 10-15 years. In fact, majority only calls for the orange twist of late. Cocktails continue to evolve--and in the case of Old Fashioned, re-volve, since the addition of multiple fruits probably only took form around prohibition (or later).

I have to say that the prese Tatiana is boring as is the mixing of the drink. First, the ice is a horrible violation. Second, the proof must be greater than 100 and preferably Jack Daniels barrel proof which can come in around 128 to 133. Third, double simple syrup and a heavy 1 teaspoon and orange bitters. Finally, a maraschino cherry. Then enjoy!!!! Sorry Stanley, go back to the mixology lab.
