Bought it when it was first offered years ago now. Still Going Strong! Love the size and Sip Spout. Top's silver plate unscrews to put a sweetener pack inside or Tea Bag if brewing up loose Tea. Fits perfectly in an insulted Wine carry tote.

I just had coffee from my French press that I had for two years on the shelf and I saw people starting to use it on KZbin so I decided to have some today very good coffee thank you for your audit or your comments on it

I love mine! I use it to make cacao (coarse ground cocoa beans). You brew this for 8-10 minutes & by the time it's done in a glass french press, it's cooled a lot, so this is great!

Hi' Karen, how many cocoa beans do you use for a this french press? Can you also add Milk and sugar? Greetings from Peru.

This thing is absolutely perfect. I saw the comments were somebody traded up for one that's three times the price. I don't get it. This thing works flawlessly. But I digress. I'm writing this post for a very specific reason. There are times I like my coffee strong, there are times I like it middle of the road. I don't like wek coffee and I really don't like really weak coffee. I find the best gas station coffee to be on the weak side. I find even the best of the best, to be minimally acceptable. So let me set the scenario. It's 1 in the morning. You're driving home or to wherever. You are tired... bone tired. You desperately need a cup of coffee. What are your choices? If you're reading this you already know where I'm going. Yeah, there are some chain gas stations out there where you can at least expect the coffee will be relatively fresh. But in the middle of the night that may not be so even with the best of them. And anyhow, chain gas station coffee tends to be weak. Fresh weak coffee is still weak coffee. Okay, that's best case scenario. My experience is that the higher my need for coffee, the more likely the only thing that will be around is a non-chain 'we make coffee once a day' gas station and the coffee is 14 hours old. I cannot tell you the number of times I have desperately needed a cup of coffee, pulled into a gas station, bought a cup of coffee, walked out to my car, took a sip, spit it out and threw the rest on the ground. My greatest worry was that the coffee would erode the concrete. I'm over it. I have been traveling with this thermos for a couple of months. It's awesome. I keep a baggie of coarsely ground coffee with me when I'm out and about. When it's time for a cup of coffee I pull into a gas station and politely ask if I can get some hot water. There are stations that charge for a cup of water. I'm happy to pay the price. I opened up my Stanley, get everything ready, pour the hot water in, and wait a few minutes. Five minutes later I I'm walking out the door with a cup of coffee that is exactly to my liking because I made it. So if if you have read all of the above and are not asleep, a quick note about the thermos itself. It's a Stanley. That pretty much says it all. It keeps a liquid hot forever. If it's probably closed I double dare you to try and get it to spill. I agree with the reviewer it does a better job then most more expensive regular French presses at keeping the grounds out of the coffee. I saw the number $55 somewhere in one of these threads. I would pay $55 for this thing. Mine cost less than half of that. It is well well well worth the investment if you value a good cup of coffee at a time of day when you're not going to get one unless you make it yourself. My apologies for any typos I'm not responsible for auto correct or predictive text. Happy coffee drinking folks

Iridium242 just got one of two that were on clearance at Walmart, they were marked $22.37, but the test scan showed $5.00! By the time I got back across the store the other one was gone.

I've seen those at Walmart, but I had no idea what a French Press was, but now I know. Thanks for sharing! Beats putting coffee grounds in a sock, and throwing it in boiling water (We did that in the Army) lol!

As much as I like mine, I wish they’d redesign it. It’s incredibly hard to clean. The gaskets all need to be removed so stuff doesn’t grow behind them. I bought this for long moto trips and other times where it’s not easy to completely break it down, clean all the individual components and let them dry before reassembly

I have one, it works well. But I finally decided it was too much plastic. Now I am going with Snow Peak titanium French press, $55.00. Lot of money but worth it, to me.

$8?? I paid 22 bucks! Still it works great. I like milk and sugar/splenda tho. I can add those before I press, but I add cinnamon after, so it wont clog the screen. I do wish tho they offered a push button sippy top as an option like other travel coffee mugs have. Along with the carry loop too.

I'm sorry sir... I don't mean to rain on your parade. But I bought one… I did precisely what you demonstrated here in this video to the letter. And I have coffee grounds all over the place!! I tried it three times, and each time coffee grounds everywhere!! So in my opinion…NOT a recommended purchase!
@Iridium242
@Iridium242 8 жыл бұрын
You will get some grounds but when I did it I didn't get much at all. I wonder if something is screwy with yours? French presses are tricky, they can make a huge mess. Can you do a video to show me what its doing? I use mine about 2 times a week and it has never made a big mess. Thanks for watching anyway! :)

+Iridium242...I think I found the problem!....There's no rubber gasket at the bottom of the press like I see you have in yours, so the grounds are going up the sides of the press. I wish that I would have spotted that when I bought it!!
@Iridium242
@Iridium242 8 жыл бұрын
oh yeah, THAT will make a huge mess. The rubber gasket is what seals it. When pressing down, there should be some resistance, because of that rubber gasket. Glad I could help you figure out the problem.
