I am a 17 yr survivor of Pancreatic cancer! I had the Distal op in 2008. It was in.my liver but they went ahead and operated at Tampa General with Moffitt working right with them!!!

Since pancreatic cancer is found late a majority of the time due to vague, ignorable symptoms (until they're not vague anymore), why isn't aren't CMP and CA 19-9 bloodwork ALWAYS performed? Early detection is key, and these two tests would have the patient undergo imaging to rule out pancreatic cancer in many cases. It would save a TON of lives.

You raise an important point about early detection. While CA 19-9 and CMP tests can provide valuable information, they aren’t always reliable for detecting pancreatic cancer early because CA 19-9 levels can also rise due to other conditions, and not all pancreatic cancers produce elevated markers. That said, researchers are working hard to develop more accurate screening methods for earlier detection. You’re right, though-catching it earlier would save many lives, and we’re hopeful that advances in research will get us there. Every voice pushing for progress is crucial! 💜

I have a 2cm cyst smack dab in the middle of mine...VERY GOOD location in case of removal but funny thing: urine, stool 2 full blood panels 8 weeks apart: ALL BEAUTIFUL and negative. Colonoscopy perfect...just lost 20 lbs kinda faster than normal and the only thing i feel is like a mild "wind knocked out of me " feeling right in my solar plexus. Appetite is fine but constipation/diarrhea combo is still going on. Lastly, endoscopic procedure is in a week to get the "final answer" but besides all the normal blood work, my CA 19-9 was 1475 so wtf? Hmmm...its a mystery. Im hoping for it to be benign and i just got IBS, which ill take any day of the week!

@@SeenaMagowitzFoundation thanks...I haven't been diagnosed YET...there's no solids in the mass and my Gastrointestinal gal said the CT showed no weird blood vessel stuff around or beneath it. Like an internal skin tag at this point. The Endoscopy will clarify that. I go in next week the 15th. Thanks for the resource info!!!!

in a disease that is still a challenge to diagnose and treat its ok to be positive and be optimistic but this guy is too optimistic I think
@SeenaMagowitzFoundation2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, @MrIanalarcon. You're right...pancreatic cancer is incredibly tough, and it's still a challenge to diagnose and treat effectively. It’s okay to be cautious when it comes to optimism, and we understand where you're coming from. But sometimes, a little extra hope can make a huge difference for patients and their loved ones. The progress being made in research and treatment, while slow, gives us reasons to stay hopeful. It’s a tough fight, but we’re not giving up, and we’re standing with those who need that optimism the most.
