Great kit, Stanton! I purchased a Gretsch 14" x 6.5" Bell Brass earlier this year, and I love it, ( except it's heavy as a bag of bricks). I'd like to get one of their Swamp Dawg snares one of these days. Thanks for giving us a peek inside the Gretsch factory. Enjoy your new kit! Cheers.

Hah! Every 13" rack I've ever owned sounds AWESOME! I think the trick is to let it live in a 13" range and not expect/ force it to live in a 12" or 14" range. Better alone, than next to a 12". If a pair is wanted/ needed, better to have 10/13, than 12/13". I never understood that standard pairing, but my ear wants to hear at least 2" (3" even better) between drums. LOVE the 13/16 standard 4 pc - from Ringo to Keltner to so many recording/ touring kits - it just works so well 👊🏼

what is the point of buying a drum with mounts clearly on them and then you put it on a tone sucking snare stand?!?!?! What is the obsession with not having mounts on the drum that alsways gets muffled?
