A few thoughts. First, thank you for taking the time to think of Jeremy and make this video of him. This was really well done and I love how you get into some of the technicals and details of the cars themselves. Second, I’ve been a Mayfield fan since 1996, so almost 30 years now. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting not only Jeremy and his wife Shana many times, but both of their families, their friends, employees, members of Jeremy’s race teams, and sponsors, at environments both in and out of the racetrack, and have had the privilege of being an invited guest to his home/shop a few times over the years, including to this one you filmed here. What you captured in this video is Jeremy as he is every day - fun-loving, a rapid-fire idea machine, a walking Wikipedia of memories stories and opinions on just about anything under the sun, decent, and caring (especially for his animals; he and Shana rescued and raised dozens of animals of all kinds on their old farm many years ago). Jeremy rolling someone into a lake, funny as it is, is nothing new for him - look up “Jeremy Mayfield Airboat” and you’ll see what I mean. So when you say at the end of the video, ‘anytime I’ve hung out with Jeremy he’s been super cool,’ that’s him - front, back and all the pages between. Which brings me to my last point. You talked about the controversy behind his name, namely all that happened between 2009 and 2014. For me, as a fan of his, it was an extraordinarily difficult experience. Being Jeremy, Shana, or anyone close to him during that time? It was hell. It was the same trauma as being in a car wreck that lasted for five years. For this reason, I carefully considered what was being said about him and whether any of it was factual, because if it was then I would have told him to stop it and get help. Many words into few: the only conclusion I’ve arrived at is that Jeremy was right. If you watched the Katt Williams appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, a lie is something someone says that nobody’s heard before. Jim Hunter’s words at Darlington in May 2009, then everything that came after, was that very thing - not only to his fans, family and friends, but to the hundreds of people in the nine different race teams (his own team included) who he drove for in the 2000s, and the garage writ large. When Jeremy’s legal issues were concluded in early 2014, he was racing again and creating content under the J2Mayfield project by that spring, and he’s been racing consistently in one series or another since then, including the GNSS the last two years. The garage speaks for itself - they believe Jeremy’s record, not this lie that’s been backed by big money and not a whisper of truth. So in conclusion: this video? This is Jeremy, this is his record, who he really is and has always been. The more things change, the more they (well, Jeremy at least) stay the same - I’m really happy to say that in this case. Thanks again for making it and best wishes on breaking into GNSS soon. Cheers!

Loved this video!. You know back when Jeremy was racing cup I was never a fan, but since seeing this it changed my whole opinion on him. It just goes to show that when you see interviews of drivers while they're involved in cup and you form an opinion based on that you kinda base it on very limited information and since you do only see that side, it's a very flawed interpretation of who they really are. I can say I'm a fan now. He seems like someone who is fun to be around and always keeps you laughing, a very down to earth and good hearted fella. Thanks for doing a video on Jeremy. A lot for people wouldn’t have the guts to do that. I will ALWAYS believe that all of the accusations against him were false and done on the orders of a certain racing organization, their leader, and a team owner.

Such a great interview. I’ve always like Mayfield. He is so down to earth like just a normal hard working guy. NASCAR management should really watch this video and listen. They’ve really messed up the Cup series and need to do something to save it. If they think they are too big to fall from grace, they are wrong. I’ve never heard of this series Jeremy races. But I need to check it out next year. Love the dogs. I’ll never forget watching that Pocono race when Jeremy gave the bump and run on Dale.

Yeah I've had these young fans tell me I'm a boomer because I said on KZbin NASCAR was dying and didn't like the direction it's going...and I'm 31...I grew up watch drivers like Jeremy Mayfield and the old Gen 4 cars...and I've noticed the young modern NASCAR fans have been quiet since Michael Jordan announced intent to sue NASCAR...like they know they're wrong now and will look stupid trying to gaslight you into thinking modern NASCAR is great and doing fine.

Another great video, thank you so much for all that you do to remind us how great nascar used to be. I hold no ill will towards Jeremy Mayfield at all, still a fan. Brian France, that's another story. And, what nascar has allowed itself to become, that's another story too. Wouldn't bother me if they folded today.

Always liked Jeremy talked to him when he qualify at Talladega. My cousin walked with him down pit road one year told him he was gonna pole it several times. Jeremy said I hope and did it. Best part of the whole weekend. Jeremy always said it like it is and the sport didn't like it.

I'm of the opinion southern culture is precisely what Nascar is missing today. The competition is better than ever. But we greatly need flavor back in the sport. Fantastic video. Did enjoy.

Definitely on Team Jeremy! I think you guys should get some more cars ready. I wonder what's gonna happen with NASCAR, the law suits, etc. The Grand National Series isn't owned by NASCAR and might be a great place for NASCAR drivers to go should they "depart" the series for whatever reason.

The story about Logan and the middle finger is cool. How has your deals getting race parts gone for you? I dealt with a fella named Scott Bachand that ran Busch North in the back consistently. He absolutely put the screws to me on a Dale Shaw chassis a Coyote racing kart with only 3 races on it. He worked for Cellular One when they were the top dog in cell service. I asked for a cell phone with a year of service. He didn't do a thing to make it right. You have the channel to guarantee that deals are solid.
