The Paladins little brother.. the hurricane is a great ship I personally don't like the engines.. otherwise is perfect. If this had the F8s rect-angle engines, two seat cock-pit and a remote turrets not manned it would be up there with the best of Anvil 💯

It's interesting you say that. It's currently one of the most lethal ships of its class. This thing rips up Connies and Corsairs in the right hands with a capable gunner. I would fly a Hurricane over a Scorpius anytime always.

I remember some patches back when CIG accidentaly gave the Hurricane a hull strength greater than the Hammerhead's. They were terrifying.

Used to be that Scorpius and Hurricane were fairly balanced against each other. Since then, Scorpius just got buff after buff, and Hurricane has been left in the dirt. This of course is normal since the Scorpius is manufactured by the company named after the boss, and if you've noticed, RSI has gotten a lot of love on all its ships across the board this last year.

In every stat the Scorpius beats the Hurricane. Obviously CIG is playing favorites. The Hurricane fits in the Polaris much better than the almost too long Scorpius.

The hurricane has had s4 guns for the pilot for like 3 years now. Even before the gun gimble reduction removal. Ive owned one for 3 years. You used to be able to just remove the gimbles and go fixed for s4s. Either way a fun ship.

While true you could size up through removal of the gimbal, it used to come stock with CF337 panthers if you didn’t remove the gimbal.

Since the gimble changes it's had the s4s also. Its always been a s4 mount. I guess that's more what I meant.

with them guns on the manned turret, you can forgive the lack of manoeuvrability a little. Sad it cant be a cross system jumper to accompany big cargo haulers with that low Q fuel. Nice review as always. Really appreciate the hard work you put in to keep bringing these to us.

Hurricane is a mean ship. It’s brutally well designed and effective. When a pilot and gunner work well together it deletes ships.

For me, this ship is the very best 2 Person Fighter in the Verse. I can remember the time, the Hurricane flys like a Gladius ❤

I had no idea the pilot weapons got increased in size, that's a great buff! Probably something for me to get in game with aUEC. That said, still love my signature Scorpius.

Given the size of the craft I really wish they’d give the Hurricane new life by reclassing to medium and improving its maneuvering imo. Also wish they’d start mounting weapons on some of these ships a little differently. I can’t see why those massive s4 guns need to stick out 2-3 meters off the nose like that

The idea is to lessen the impact of the muzzle flash from the guns, bit it's still really bad. The guns should be bespoke, integrated into the fuselage below and to the side of the cockpit similar to modern jet fighters with the option to change them from ballistic to energy and back as desired. That would help with radar signature and aerodynamics tremendously.

I think there NEEDS to be ships that just don't perform as expected based on the ship class, so that the ones that do meet the profile and the ones that outperform feel like a natural progression. Then again this statement will only make sense once every single ship becomes ingame purchaseable for a fair grind and personal progression I hope CIG keeps some ships as 6/10s instead of balancing things to a point where the only difference becomes "how many guns/different coat of paint"

in the past, it was on a s4 gimbal which it down size to a s3 gun so if you remove the gimbal it can equip the s4, but now the all gimbal doesn't downsize the guns anymore

The Talon! Price point and stats compared and little better then this so called Heavy Fighter. Only thing better than the Talon is the Ghost and it cost a good penny more. They really need to do a better job with balancing and beef everything up and not make paper ships that blowup if you look at them. Good job with the videos as always!!

I realy love the new short skin showcase. There is no need to do a several minutes long video for a single paint. That short clip in good lighting is perfect and enough to quickly decide If you like it or not.

The day they let us hire AI crew or automate turrets, i will be buying one in game, as it is i am on the fence about buying a Gladiator and just soloing it like it did a couple Xenothreat events ago. These and the Mk1 Hornet are my favorite fighters.

i do wish turreted ships had their turrets slaved to the pilot you get more forward firepower solo, but with a friend you get more utility with being able to shoot multiple targets

A friend and I compared this and the Scorpius a couple of days ago and we actually prefer the Scorpius, as the back turret has a better FOV and ROM.

as a combat ship it really needed that pilot weapon upgrade to keep it competitive but man do those guns look comically large on this ship. its got me thinking, why did intrepid have to be assymetrical to allow for its "big" gun and what kind of power draw is this thing gonna have to keep it balanced as the CS footprint is very small, its pretty fast and its gonna hit harder than ever

Im more of a scorpius fan but the Hurricane is still a great ship and can handle itself in a gun fight if you have a turret gunner.

I would like to see a stat comparison between the Hurricane and the Scorpius. I've, personally, have only flown the Scorpius, but I've heard people swear up and down that the Hurricane is/was superior, and that was even before the weapon buff. I do like the fact it has size 4s now, for the pilot. Wonder if it would better compete if the gunner had 2 size 4s as well (instead of the 4 size 3s), would make it slightly different than the Scorpius, though idk if that would be OP or not.

I like the Hurricane way more as I'm not a fan of the pilot weapon positions on the Scorpius. With the Hurricane you shoot right out of your nose. The Hurricane is also a way smaller target, some really compressed firepower for its size. Both ships have very generous internal storage for both pilots. In the end it's a question of what you prefer style-wise I'd say.

Probably too concerned about trying to match Star Wars, lol. I DID rent Hurricane, to try out at IAE, but haven't gotten around to using it just yet...if its even still in my ship hangar.

It’s worse than the scorpius in Hull HP, maneuverability, nav speed, qt fuel… I wouldn’t say it’s better than the scorpius but they both contend nicely.

​@@EvenLease44In a straight pvp brawl, it's amazing how many times I managed to blow off the Scorpius wings as a Hurricane gunner especially with precise aim zoom. Master Modes speeds make it even easier. Each wing gone is a solid chunk of dps lost. Also, in an emergency, guess which ship is getting in the air faster with both pilot and gunner and delivering its dps first because there is no shared cockpit? Hurricane all the way. I hope I don't sound like a jerk. Sorry if I did. I used to own a Scorp and loved it, then a friend let me try his Hurricane while he gunned for me. I loved it so much I melted the Scorp the next day. Thank you for the great content as always!

Gawd I hate this thing. I have an irrational hate for it like you wouldn't believe. I'm an OG Backer but only really came (back) to SC in the 3.18 patch cycle (first oof), and this POS ship was the uber meta. Everyone and their dogs shilled for this thing, and it was oppressively OP. And the turret did not take damage, to make matters worse. Ans somehow all of the Anvil ships' wings remind me of the flimsy looking origin wings/spoilers, and they're really not for me style wise. Probably a 5/10 for me, since it's just made of paper, or a full 0/10 out of pure spite. Thanks for reading through my rant.

A lot of the older ships that were under-gunned have been getting a lot of gun size increases. But now that balance passes are coming around, who knows if it'll stay that way.
