I still have an x370 mobo (C6H) with 4x8gb micron e die oced at 3733 14-10-18-16-36 and I slapped on it an 5800x3d coming from 3800x (and 1700 before!). Huge upgrade imho, but watching these benchs makes me want to upgrade again lol. I'll probably wait for next gen stuffs, even because I won't change my 3080 for a while and playing at 3440x1440 probably will make differences smaller. Thanks for the tests!

Thanks for including the Zentimings picture. Wouldnt mind some numbers for the 13900k as well! While your X3D tuned timings are way better than the XMP\Expo garbage ones, theres definitely room for improvement. tWTRS to 4, tWR can probably go to 48, tRTP to 12, tRDWR to 16, tWRRD to 1-2. Other than that your subs are fine for the most part. A-die can also go as low as 120ns-ish tRFC, which is around 380-390 tRFC or so, but that requires testing, and maybe more mem VDD voltage as you're close to the limit. 450 should be a safe-ish place to be for most people on A-die, but if you want some better Aida latency numbers, thats a good place to start. Although pushing timings as low as you can for Aida latency doesnt always translate to better game performance, as I'll explain further down. tRFC2 and tRFCsb arent used on AM5 atm, so you can set those to whatever. Same goes for tRDRD/tWRWR SD+DD, only used on dual rank sticks so you can have a long row of 1's if you want it to look nice on your SR kit :) Although I havent tested those exact timings, you may actually be in error correction territory with those primary timings. You usually want to go tRTP + tRCDRD = tRAS, and tRAS + tRP = tRC. Your tRC is a bit below your tRAS + tRP at the moment, so you could see some slowdowns because of that, thanks to DDR5s on-die ECC thingymajig. I saw a decent improvement when following that rule / formula for my primaries on my 7700X in gaming (from 210fps to 220fps in Riftbreaker, and 320 to 360 fps in SotTomb Raider while using the same subtimings), and while the X3D doesnt scale all that well with ram you might see some extra frames as well. No guarantees though, havent tested it myself on X3D yet! For reference, my 6400 CL32 XMP\Expo garbage timings gave me 185 fps in Riftbreaker, and sub 300 fps in SotTR on the 7700X, so even with some error correction I had massive gains from the secondary\tertiary timings alone, which is what we're seeing here as well. Time for me to say goodbye to the 7700X though, as I got the 7800X3D on the table next to me atm!

I got hynix 'm die with my 7800x3d upgraded from my 9700k samsung bdie ram. How sensetive are the hynix ram kits to temperature? Because I had to cool my Samsung b die under 45 degrees. Is this the same with ddr5 hynix?
@Hoofie Жыл бұрын
@@coolbvwes1 Looks like youtube killed my reply, so here we go again. If you are running spicy timings you generally want to stay below 45-50c on Hynix A\M-die as well. At 45c or higher the ram starts acting like the refresh interval is longer than what you set your tREFI to, and it eventually skips the internal refresh. This is something that only happens internally on the ram, so the CPU assumes that its still being done so performance wont really be affected. It can cause issues and errors down the line if the temps go too high when you're pushing the timings a bit too hard. My a-die kit starts giving me errors around 50-55c, but that is with some fairly spicy timings. I'm currently running 6400c28-37-30-49-79 at 1,52v, so I need active cooling to keep it at around 45-46c. My subtimings are fairly similar to Game Days, with the timings I mentioned above being different. I'm also running tRFC 390, which is on the very edge of what my kit can do. (errors at 382) This is on a-die though, and how hard you can push timings on m-die is slightly different. If you want to run some timings that will give you 80-90% of the performance increase, check out Buildzoid \ Actually Hardcore Overclock's Easy ram timings for Hynix on AM5 video. Those timings are way easier to run, and arent really that temperature sensitive so you can probably go into the 50's without any issues. I do recommend following the lil' formula \ rule for your tRAS and tRC though, as you dont want to have your ram hit speedbumps while gaming. You'll probably sacrifice 0.5-1ns Aida64 latency compared to lowering your tRAS and tRC into the 30's and 60's, but thats not important for gaming anyways. Some people (Veiii) also recommends an additional +3 on your tRC for some extra stability.

ryzen x3d is the best cpu period its pretty much the same as intel or better or very close in performance. ryzen is a lot cheaper, the platform is future proof as a long lasting am5 unlike intel. the power efficiency is just insane so it wont heat up the room, it will be more quiet, in fact total silent with proper fan curves, the cooler will be cheaper, you wont need any lga mods for bending etc, its just no brainer to go with intel. 8 cores is more then enough for me to do everything. i even pbo overclocked it to 4,9ghz and it only consumes 50w gaming its bonkers
