Hello! I had a question. I'm trying to stabilize the all core clocks of my 13700k as I have not yet experienced any signs of degradation yet. When doing step 1 and disabling boost by applying the "Sync All Core" setting, do I also have to disable all of the intel boost settings shown at 0:06, or do I just apply the sync all core settings? Also could you please provide a list of all intel boost settings that should be disabled as well? Thanks!

4:00 "You do not feel the max and you do not feel the averages, you feel the bottom 1%" That is not true. 99% of the time you play on the average and the top 5%. You play on the bottom 1% 1% of the time. The average and the top5% are what actually matters 99% of the time and that's why we want a more powerful CPU: so we can play at higher FPS. There's more to video games than just maxxing the graphics and playing at 60-80 FPS. You can get a 300 Hz monitor, lower the graphics and play at 300-600 FPS.

Hello. For last two day's I'm investigating this topic and found a lot of "7800X3D is the king" videos. In your materials I see that's not exactly true (mostly in lows). Also RSI Telemetry page shows that lot of CPUs outperforms 7800X3D in Star Citizen. Normally I'm playing with OC but my current setup is totally opposite - I'm using i5 12400F on ASUS PRIME B660-PLUS DDR4, 32GB of Goodram DDR4 3600 CL18, Asus RTX3080 and two 1TB 970 EVO m.2 . Only CPU intense games I play is Star Citizen (1920x1080) and MS Flight (in VR - Pimax 8KX). I'm considering upgrade of cpu or swap of current cpu/ram/mobo (the one I use would then go to my son PC - plan for his PC is next year but we can take that into consideration). What would you recommend for me? Keeping current mobo and upgrade of CPU to for example 14900K (no OC most probably on this mobo) or maybe buying 7800X3D + mobo + for example 64gb of 6000 CL30 RAM. Or maybe something else (with not changing anything included)? Normally I'm handling those topic myself but I see that you have lot of experience and possibilities regarding Star Citizen and tuning for it. I will be really grateful for advice. Regards

The next Gen CPUs 9800X3D and Intel Ultra 9 285K are coming out in the next 2-3 weeks. They are expected to be at least 10% fester than current gen equivalent based on leaskes. So my recommendation is: 1. Wait 2-3 weeks for mainstream reviews + my tuned reviews 2. Evaluate which platform that makes most sense based on your budget and performance goals (what FPS do you want in star citizen at 1080P) 2.a) Do you need to tune or overclock to achieve the performance you want? If not pick the platform as is with XMP. 2.b) if you need to tune to achieve your performance goals, you can learn how to in my discord, or just test one of my pre-tuned BIOS profiles (if you have the same motherboard) or just pick up a consult. I am increasing my price by the end of the year to $250. www.game-day.xyz In the end without knowing too much about your star-citizen performance goals my assumption is that getting the 9800X3D + 6000mhz CL30 with a B650 board would make most sense. As it would for 90% of PC builders.

Doesn't the inconsistency of Star Citizens crappy servers and horrific optimisation heavily impact these tests? I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting money on hardware for this game unless it's literally the only thing they play. Otherwise, just buy a 7800X3D. Recommending Intel 13th gen is also absolutely wrong considering the large amount of architecture level issues causing crashes.

Are you sure you play on the same settings as the other streamer does? From the clips taken it seems you're using a different one (based on the different sizes of text of the display info), maybe also upscaled or the like. Sure, using more potent RAM Dimms for sure can make an impact though this also requies overclocking your CPU which may degrade faster and/or leave your system unstable or even harm components on the long run, as the I9-13900k has an upper "natural" transfer rate of 5600 MHz.

And now a question: Why do you think the default/stock "tuning" is lower than this overclocked tuning? Yes, yes. Stability! Because we all love blue screens, and similar shit during playing, right? Bricked components after a year of this kind of usage. Think twice before following these self-proclaimed "experts" and when checking the "Yes, I understand the risks" checkboxes.
@gamedaytoday1

Big L comment Stability is independent on whether or not your system is set at default/stock or overclocked/tuned. Why do you think Intel CPU got degraded on default settings? Why do you think the 7800X3D blew up on default settings when it was released. Why do you think people get cashes on XMP settings? Default/stock = does not equal stable or guarantees you not to get blue screens. Most people getting these issues because they leave their BIOS setting on default hoping it does the right thing. There are more people complaining about system instability who don't touch their BIOS than people who do. What do you think Intel's and AMD's boost algorithm is? Its a nice marketing term for used to disguised that their algorithm is overclocking for you.
@commanderoof4578
@commanderoof4578 21 күн бұрын
I will answer this one so anyone trying to understand isnt left in the dark... The reason TUNED vs AUTO is a thing is because manufacturers do not want to be playing tech support when XMP or EXPO fails to launch because even just 1 of the timings is set slightly to tight for the individuals hardware Computer parts DO NOT!! overclock by the same amount as each other Also its pretty damn hard to kill a component or force rapid degradation unless either you as the user or the motherboard manufacturer or CPU the microcode applies TOO MUCH voltage You wont brick your system slamming the RAM frequency to 10,000 it just wont boot 5+ times in a row then will reset the bios and boot However go set the RAM to 2v it can 100% just obliterate instantly With PC hardware its VOLTAGE and TEMPERATURE that kill parts be it 1 or the other or both at the same time Simply tightening timings will not kill RAM as the timings change how the cycles are used and the frequency determines how many cycles there are, tune your RAM it can do more in the same amount of time and will not degrade it as the transistors are to damn small to physically shift or be oxidised you need high temperatures or super high voltages respectively

Getting 8200Mhz is impossible for 95% because you ned a 5%percentile golden chip to do it. I Rma'd the first one so now I have a 3.rd but thats going straight to the used market. The binning on 14900k is so bad because of the KS model.

Wrong. The standard profile limits boosts even though the cpu load is nowhere close to the configured tdp cap. PBO also doesn't increase power consumptions much in gaming loads, since most of the cores aren't under full load there. Gaming isn't cinebench, where all cores are running at 100% all the time.

Obviously you didn't watch the video, because it includes proof which contradicts your statements Zen 5 CPUs still don't offer as much value to the majority of users as Zen 4 CPUs do, but they clearly have a lot more potential for increased performance with tuning/ overclocking than any of the previous three generations. Zen 5 CPUs do also perform signfiicantly faster than Zen 4 CPUs in some applications, and even in a small number of games (up to 15% faster in games). Zen 5 has more new architectural features and changes over previous generations than any AMD CPU since arguably Zen 1, and it is not unusual for it to take a lot of time before a wide range of software is better optimized for new architectural features, so it's entirely possible that Zen 5 will pull further ahead of Zen 4 in a wide range of applications over time, but time will tell. For now, I'd highly recommend that people just go with a Zen 4 CPU, unless Zen 5 already offers a significant performance improvement over Zen 4 in some of their most used applications, but even then, Zen 4 is quite possibly still going to be more than good enough. Zen 6 is likely to be the last CPU architecture released for the AM5 platform, and it might make more sense to just get Zen 4 now, and then eventually upgrade to Zen 6 if or when you find that you need or want more performance. Then again, for all we know, whatever comes after Zen 6 might even be released on the AM5 platform as well.

Obviously you didn't watch the video, because what you're talking about isn't relevant to what this video is about, which is custom tuning and overclocking, not the windows update which improves performance of multiple generations of Ryzen CPUs. You can tune Ryzen 7000 CPUs for better performance, but you can't get nearly as much additional performance by doing so, especially with the X3D CPUs, which have very limited tuning options which don't come with huge risk of causing permanent damage. The X3D CPUs also don't benefit nearly as much from memory tuning either (and aren't hurt as much by using even very slow memory either).
