Since some people are questioning the missile hitting the base, but still somehow blowing up the ship, let me explain my reasoning for it: The base in question must be either a fueling station or a refinery. The ship is either getting refueled, or is delivering materials to the station. The scale and look of the explosions give off that it's caused by the buildings containing something explosive. It is a clear chain reaction. The fuel lines must be connected, and the ship is also connected to those lines, and the explosion must have chained through the lines. Also the last blue explosion must have something to do with the fuel used to perform jumps in star citizen. The color and texture closely resembles the effects of jumping with a ship, and the effects of an exploding larger scale ship that can perform jumps. Therefore, I believe that the over the top explosions are caused by fuels.

Well it is a flying fuel refinery. Stands to reason the torpedo was heading for a fuel depot and wouldn't ya know it the Starferer was still offloading the fuel. Would love to see a similar chain reaction in game.

this has got to be one of if not the coolest ship trailer. I'm not a big fan of single-seat ships but the eclipse is just awesome. Can't wait for proper bombing gameplay for both the eclipse and other vehicles that can drop bombs. I could even see vehicles like the Freelancer bombing like they do in avatar. Where they have the bomb in the cargo bay and just have people chuck it out.

They've always been doing great trailers, the problem is they tend to show some inappropriate things which make people think "great I can do this and that in-game" while actually you can't do everything they show, or not in the way they show it. But we'll come near there by next year I hope.

They need to add more alien ships like a Vanduul troop carrier, or more variety for Xi'an, Banu, and maybe even old Tevaran ships. There are so, so many human ships that do many different things but only several ships for each of the alien races. Like in Banu or Xi'an cities are we only going to see Banu Merchantmen/Defenders or Aopoa Khartu-als/Noxes. They need to flesh out these alien societies more and have alien ships for some different career roles. They have time as the PU grows but I still think they need to do this for emersion and practical reasons like alien capital ships and/ or more fighters/cargo ships. I would hate to be on a Xi'an planet and see almost all human ships like Drake or Origin dominate the skies or be in a a Banu City and see hundreds of Merchantmen following each other because it and the Defender are the only two Banu ships. I can Understand only having Fighters for the Vanduul because they arn't frendly with humanity.

At first I was confused about why Aegis would portray one of their own products (the Idris) in a negative light in this commercial. Then, I realized that the Idris is a symbol of the Messar regime, and Aegis is distancing themselves from it using one of their new products.

Actually it will depend a lot on what we, as players, can obtain legally within the game. You are correct that we won't get such devastors as shown in the video in the normal marketplace but an anti-matter warhead is a viable and known warhead type within the SC 'verse so something like the video could occur. Perhaps a truly favoured player might get such a warhead for use on those very special targets.

Probably not, they've said in most cases that bombers will need support to take down just one capital ship, much less a huge base + at least an idris and a starfarer. Something to note however, you could probably get this level of destruction if you blew up the power station, like at 1:12
