One of the things that was mentioned earlier was that as the development tools and processes were created development speed would be increased. Creating ships was specifically mentioned. I wonder where that improved development speed is based on it taking a year to create the Carrack. Is this going to be the same with star systems where we were told that the big issue was creating the tools needed to create one would enable much faster development of the other 99? Is this simply a resource priority issue? I curious to understand this better.

I love it.What we really need is a ship that attaches it to an habitat container or any type of container function and drag it in to orbit and to other star system.like the mustang beta but bigger and have that detachable container system.

The Starlifter looks fantastic! I'll leave it to my org to buy big ships like this, but It's going to make a really nice cargo alternative to the hull series, especially given it's ability to land planetside.

The starlifter c2 reminds me of the main transport ship that they turn into a bomber at the end of avatar. The fact that the a2 practically drops for daisy cutter style bombs makes me wonder if they had inspiration from that movie

Cool, cool. I mean sure, it's basically a cut and paste concept from a C-130 Hercules series (literally, with the same name), but as a space-faring vessel it will be really quite a different animal. And a proper ship to engage surface or static space targets from a stand-off distance is a niche that had been unfilled, as well as a dedicated starlifter - a cargo ship specially designed for maximally efficient unload/offload operations rather than maximized cargo /capacity/. This is contrasted with something like the MISC Hull E which has enormous cargo capacity, but cannot load or unload without local facilities - not to mention, is rather vulnerable to attack.

The hurricane is the perfect bounty hunter's ship. Get close and shred them in one volley. If we can equip weapons that disable a ship instead of destroy it, we can even do the keep-the-target-alive route.

Is there going to be some form of HUD representation for the pilot of the turret(s) field of fire? It seems like that would be super helpful in a ship as dependent on its guns as the Hurricane.

Now we need a new Assault capital ship, something that works like a LHA/LHD from today, so that it can bring those starlifters near the planet to invade MEU style. Imagine a fleet composed by a Pegasus escort carrier carrying fighters and bombers to get space superiority, an LHA carrying the Hercules(es?) to bring troops and vehicles on the ground, and their Javelin dessie escorts to protect the fleet itself in space. Plus i ofc a logistic line of starfarers, and maybe some Polaris corvettes for fast patrols and flank attacks. Dammit now i'm drooling over the keyboard

I'm still curious if they manage to pull of those large amounts of people (or ships, or both) clamped together. Multiple transports with 200 guys each in an online game.. I kinda doubt that even with really good optimazation and all their aim for container streaming / culling and so on it'll be doable.
