Star Citizen - I really didn't expect this to work..

haha, all fair points. lol. I was screaming when he was at the 400i or on top of the retaliator docking port. And yes, I think you can still punch the doors open, which is ridiculous.

With shields down you can use a small, rifle any character weapon to shoot doors, ramps, cargo elevators open

Ollie, this gave me an idea that I thought you might like to try; What if you armed the Vulture with disruption weaponry to have them crash so you can salvage them on the ground?

Been doing that one for a while, is fun. Was even more fun before they changed it. For a short bit of time you could salvage/shatter them while they were disabled.

A top Gun mission would be pretty sick. It would also be sick if we had the complex fidelity of a ground targeting system and ordinance to go with it. Would actually give rear seat pilots something they can do and be effective. I mean the main pilot can do that as well but still, having a Radar Intercept Officer would be pretty cool. Also more complex radar systems if they are trying to go for stealth gameplay. Every real aircraft can play the stealth game if the pilots know what they are doing. Some aircraft do it better than others but it is still possible. Edit: I say this because if what Ollie is describing as a dope mission would come to fruition, we may actually need mechanics like these to make this type of approach possible. Its already set in stone in the real world with pros and cons.

Ace Combat 4 and Ace Combat 6 both had canyon run missions. I used to fly under bridges on the maps with large cities (the ground and buildings definitely were not to the same scale). From the SQ42 trailer at Citizen Con it looks like we will have a canyon run mission in it. I expect we will eventually have something in Star Citizen.

Yeah that build is crazy and had a fight yesterday against some org with the org im with! It was enjoyable but the F8C is overpowered to be fair and had to bring my ion to be competitive against 😅

This ship was a total cash grab. Release a most powerful fighter in the game with nothing to counter it. Everyone who wants at least a little chance in pvp will run to buy it.

Ollie, you should try them higher up into the atmosphere when you fight. They'll drop farther when they shut down and hopefully they'll be going fast enough to explode when hitting the ground.

@Oli43 2:13, after changing the weapon group, it will always bug out, just swap to missiles and back to weapons. That will fix the UI.

Hey Ollie, two things: 1.) you can punch your way into ships via unarmed combat as long as you are in a gravity well. 2.) I noticed all your cannons are firing simultaneously. Although this is the best practice for damage per cycle, you greatly diminish your time of fire (TOF). If you toggle staggering fire mode, you can increase the chance of successful hits per second as you only have have half the chance of missing shots on all weapon groups.

I just watched an Avenger__One video on this, and distortion is the current PVP meta. Time to disable is significantly shorter than time to kill.

I run XJ2s on half, slaved to one firing group ans NDB repeaters for the other half, slaves to the second firing group. Eliminates their shields and then repeaters to finish the job. The firing groups allow quick energy recharge

Olli, when using cannons you really got to turn on the stagger fire. Repeaters fire too fast to hear any difference, but with cannons the audible and visual difference is awesome. w/o stagger fire: blaat___________blaat w/ stagger fire: blaat___blaat___blaat___blaat I use four size 2 Tarantulas on my Mustang Delta. Why cannon's on the Mustang Delta? Because the projectile speed is the same as the rocket pods and I can use the pip for the cannons and get hits with the rockets. I set the stagger fire mode to the delete key.

Very nealy a good demonstration of why not to use this setup for bounties. Not enough take down without reliance on the environment. Those ballistics were worth dropping for energy weapons. Enjoyed the video.

It's a great setup for hrts and below when you get to vhrts and erts you might wanna swap out the ballistics to Lazer repeaters so you have sustained dmg since distortion dose low dmg and you wouldnt have to worry about ammo and the same goes for pvp but all that aside good pve mid to low threat build

I thought you could just shoot at the doors or airlock of a ship until they opened. Doesn't even look like you need that many SPs, just equip 4, laser repeaters for the other 4, and fire both off at the same time and see how quickly it can take someone out

Yeah you can shoot the doors open or use the cutting attachment on the multitool when the shields are down.

The cutter works better on smaller doors. We tried it on an A2 last night and it was taking forever. Eventually we just used our ship turret to shoot it open. Maybe they will bring out a bigger version for the big tractor.@@MKultrapdx

I caught a pvp bounty in the act of pirating a reclaimer yesterday. I took out his partner that dropped him off and he got in one of the turrets and tried to open up on me and then logged right before I destroyed the ship. The reclaimer crew ended up filing charges against me and I didn’t get the bounty. Very annoying.

I have been doing this for about a month with the C1, its my favorite set up. I have had a few PvP encounters with this in atmosphere and it does not take long to shut off player ships but players can recover so just keep at em till they crash. out of atmosphere it gave me enough time to quantum away.

While you can't hack ship doors, good ol' violence usually works.... although that requires you to be prepared with some ammo when you go into battle

And this is why you never go full distortion or ballistic load outs. 2/2/2/2 mix would work or a 4/4 mix or even a 4/2/2 mix

My favorite build : Corsair 4 Deadbolt V. Cut in half any ship in front of you at 2km 8kDPS alpha dmg xD +2kDPS S4 infinite laser canon (too much power supply left, ammo charge in like less than a second xD ) with people in turrets the Corsair could do more dmg than a HammerHead full turrets with this build xD it's insane. 10k DPS in the Pilot seat with a big range is pretty effective ^^ And speaking of the HH, the next build I need to test... Is a Full ballistic HammerHead xD Beware of HH with gatling guns xD (or a mix xD, I love also doing mix Laser/Distorsion, can do that on every turrets XD )

So it works great against anything below HRT. The kind of enemy you would need to spend 3 seconds to blow up, you can now just take out so much more easily by waiting a a minute for them to crash into something. Genius... 👍 I am constantly stunned by how clueless even players are who have allegedly been playing for years.

To whoever pretends to do 1v1 Dogfights in the lightning: no you're not good at the game, no the enemy is not total garbage, you are simply flying the most broken ship in the game wich out dps every single fighter in the game, has 2 SIZE 2 shields wich even if you destroy the front face of the shields the game engine doesn't render it and it keeps destroying shields instead of hitting the hull, you can also slam twice on an asteroid at full speed without getting soft death or hard death (Don't tell me this is false because i have 15 clips saved on my ssd of this happening to bounties i was killing), and after all of this, hull hp is wayy too high for something like this... i end up destroying an enemy's lightning both wings, tails and wweapons before the ships even starts to slow down or have torque inbalance
