Right, I’ve got my misc and max still and neither should be 4 person ship. They should be 2 person ships. The rear turret should be a remote turret and placed up and slightly behind the docking collar.

I considered melting my Freelancer MAX for the Starlancer MAX. No. The Freelancer MAX is still one of my favourites and a classic. So I got rid of some other stuff to get the Starlancer MAX. As for updating the Freelancer... a gold standard / components pass would be nice. Other than that the ship(s) is / are fine.

Well isn’t the whole ship powered with a gravity generator? I think the gravity generator can compensate for most typical flying. Just can’t handle extreme maneuvers like combat. At that point a spilled drink is the least of anyones concern.

​@Qwarzz You do, but that's a buggy aspect of ship collision they need to address someday. Same reason you need to turn the engine off before pulling a smaller ship or small vehicle into a ships hanger. Alters the ship collision mechanics.

Yeah I remember someone broke into my 325a way back in the day and were refusing to leave so rather than accept them taking it or killing me as soon as I was out of armistice I just did extreme maneuvers and it actually killed them. Thankfully back in the day you had a number of options for removing a crimestat.

Also you can get the most out of the Redeemer with a crew of 3 - the Starlancer requires at least 4 for full frontal cover and 5 so you can at least limit the blind spots on it; the uncovered area is still rather big. So that evens it out in my book.

The Redeemer was brought more in line for a combat ship; the Corsair wasn't nerfed in the usual sense but simply requires 2 people now for its forward main guns, which is fair.

@@artlife9563 The Redeemer was too powerful for its size. The Corsair also received a much needed change as it had too much firepower in its size just for the pilot. Both changes have nothing to do with the introduction of a ship thats 30 meters longer than the Corsair, aiming at a different group of buyers throughout its line. If I really have to explain all the details and differences then maybe you guys don't know half as much as you think.

All its missing is the scanners, which you can use the Carrack for that, whenever they impliment that functionality. The fact they went ahead and created these ships instead of working on the Carrack is telling. Don't act like they won't ruin a hull or even retire it before it's time, see the Corsair , and the Hornet MK I. I bet they put twice the work and effort into the Ironclad before polishing the Carrack. They even ghosted the Banu Merchantman. I'm assuming you feel some type of way because you bought a Carrack.

@@thumpertron I agree with you on the social aspect, but there does need to be NPC crew or AI blades because a lot of people aren't always going to have the time to find a crew to go do stuff. A lot of SC's player base are working adults who might get 1-2 hours per night to play. CIG did say a long time ago that NPC crew or AI blades wouldn't be nearly as effective as real players, they'd just be a tool to get by when you need it but you'd still want to crew up for any serious work.

Pff, there are own dedicated teams working on ships. They don't necessarily take away from other development. Along with it's good rotation, doing something else. Than coding for 12 y.. "Smart" AI already exist, but not smart due to ticker refresh rate on the servers. This can't be fixed before Dynamic Server Meshing is successful. If you watched the stream yesterday, they have done massive progress to interactive environments. This time weather and animals. Mission is lower priority atm, we got many but they are "simple". So guess we disagree on what they should focus on, but imo more important that they work towards getting SQ42 done with the mission teams. Than giving the PU Alpha more missions. This will come naturally with f.ex the new weather system and animals.

Concord, ~400M and what that turned up as, compared to Star Citizen, two games, ~10y of development and the level of story and gameplay, design, fidelity all of it.. Compared to that, Star Citizen is doing great work for it's money!

@@Nemoticon idk what to say you "picked one up" but not because of the commercial. I guess if you were watching CitizenCon and saw it there then I get the commercial not selling you on the ship. I didn't get to watch much of it so for me the first time I saw the ship was in that commercial. So for me it was wow this thing looks awesome I want one. Edit Also it was the ship in the commercial that sold me, not the randomness of the crew or the locations it was the ship, being able to see its interior seeing it fly I imagined yeah that could be me. So yes it was an easy sell 😉.

Has practically no gameplay yet for a ship the Krakens size.. Something like Polaris and Perseus will determine the future of Capital ships and their gameplay in the verse.. not to mention you only have Stanton so far, and Pyro in a few months. So really not much use for Kraken yet.

I remember cig said somewhere that the biggest ships like the kraken and the Odyssey weren't going to be in the game until it was almost ready to release due to there really being no need for them until they get the gameplay loops that would warrant them implemented, which Likely wouldn't be until around 1.0.

The Kraken serves no purpose yet. If they add it, they'll just be doing what they did with the Starferer and Reclaimer where they add a ship with no use. Which people will be pissed at. Damed if you do, damned if you don't type of thing.

the features they are putting into the player stations and the ironclad are also going to be in the Kraken so, it makes senser to combine the effort. The ships have only improved over time as they have continued to iterate and putting the Kraken out early would have resulted in a lot of backtracking and issues. Reclaimer can benefit from a rework.. imagine having to do this to the Kraken. Nope, as much as I want mine its better to keep waiting at this point

Are you stupid? The Carrack is bigger, has way more cargo space, a small ship bay and a T2 med bed. The Starlancer has either a snub bay or a solid cargo bay and no med bed. Starlancers are for cargo, combat and base building, the Carrack is a large exploration vessel.

The pilot controlled weaponry on the ship is substantial, so for doing trade runs in UEE controlled territory you should be fine.

The max is the exploration variant. It has a dedicated spot for an ursa that can't be used for cargo. They even describe it as being more exploration suited.

It's not known yet but I would guess that it will likely be more expensive. Base building was on the agenda this year at CitizenCon and a lot of people are hyped for it. The Max is fine but just another cargo ship in a game full of cargo ships... there are not a lot of base building ships (not yet at least) so I think it's a good guess that we'll be paying top dollar for anything with those features.

Why would they do that? A rework won't bring in much money unless it's a complete overhaul. Considering how they brought the Retaliator to the "gold standard," any reworks will be insignificant.
