i unfortunatly grabbed a reliant when it still had features preventing the wings from rotating, so i dropped it and never looked back at it

Also, I keep mentioning that for the Kore if they actually increase the roof of the rear area just by a little bit it has enough space to do a double stack of cargo boxes. This would put it very much in line with the 315p with carrying capacity. As it was built as a mini hauler, this would give it a one up advantage on other ships in the same general price range and make it a much more attractive cash buy.

I was using a Tana for XT and it performed surprisingly well. I'm sold. I love the goofy little thing.

I upgraded my cutter to Kore long time ago, and it's a good "starter like" ship. You can fit inside STV, flying not bad, is relatively cheap, have this 6 size 2 guns, no problems with HRT's, but now I have Tana, mainly because of interrior. Decent daily driver for a lone mercenary or bounty hunter.

Love this ship 🚢 needs bigger weapon capacitors and S2 shield since it is so easy to hit.

I’ve had an ongoing love for this ship since concept. However, I can’t seem to wrap my head around paying actual cash for it. I usually just go ahead and wait until I can save up enough money to buy one in game.

I've always liked Reliants because of the view from the cockpit, but this patch (flight model) they are much quicker and handle better than they used to. Still paper thin, so avoid getting hit.

Awesome little series of ships. I hope whenever they get a true update/rework they hold true to the original esthetic but increase their usefulness. They could easily be improved just by adding more defense and a little more interior space.

In typical CIG fashion the Tana has the least hull HP of all the variants. But, the extra 16 s2 missiles are too useful to not have. Tana is great for running box missions since you can park real close to any place. I will say it again, but the Reliant uses Xian engines like the santok and Kartual but they are not utilized at all except for vtol. I wish they would allow the engines to rotate the full hemisphere to assist in maneuvering like the fury gets how the xian ships use them. So that would differentiate the modes more than just vertical and horizontal for no reason but coolness. So in space mode you would be vertical and able to have the engines rotate in an entire hemisphere of range on each side instead of just locked rearward. Then in horizontal atmo mode, the engines would just rotate in the pitch for thrust vectoring like the F-22 raptor. Not sure why CIG designs ships that could be extra cool and then does not enable anything.

Ships with size 3 shields in this patch are turning around like mad, and if You even take out shield from one side, ship turn around and You dealing with another 25 000 HP, when damaged side can be regenerated.

I use my Tana but get the Toshima Turrets that the Kore comes with. This gets you the 6x size 2s along with the 20x size 2 missiles that the Tana comes with. I like to just put 6 M4A cannons on it. It's VERY powerful for it's size. A burst DPS of around 3400 and sustained of over 2k. This is enough to kill a lot of ships but you only get 10 shots in middle capacitor so you need to have pretty decent aim. The bonus is, you'll kill most things within ONE capacitor burst with that configuration.

I do the same in mine, but with Badgers. The M4As or even Omniskys perform much better, but I can't help giggling like a little girl every time I hear the BRRRRT.

i hate its vertical configuration, i also hate that the co-pilot seat takes control of the turreted guns instead of the missiles, aprt from that, the Reliant Kore and Tana are good :)

After the massive maneuvering thruster nerfs in 3.23 the Reliant is the only remaining full 6dof ship. It has by far the best retro thrust for good distance control. It's weak in other areas but in terms of how it flies it's the only ship that still feels like it was designed as a spaceship instead of a lame attempt to make spaceships fly like airplanes. If you check spviewer and go to the compare page, you can see this in the acceleration bars. With some extra lightening tuning it's pretty damn nimble. Also you were using lightstrikes which have the worst energy to damage conversion in the game (1:0.8), so with the recent capacitor nerfs it's no wonder you were having trouble taking down shields on larger ships.

Projectile velocity takes priority for me. I'm not the best at aiming, so the faster the shots, the easier it is for me to hit

That 400i is at least worth the money now with how it moves and tha size 3 shield (you are correct Nut). But dam they should be in VHRTs with all the other ships rocking size 3 shields. Alao me for those watching, that 400i was destroyed a little after that... by a 600i.

Truth be told. I thought I was the only one embarrassed to tell my friend a reliant almost kicked my ass. Those prospectors are supprisingly tanky now. I think the hull is almost as much as a F8

no, Prospectors inherited the old infinite shield/hull bug, but only on the front side, if you want to knock an npc Prospector, hit it from the sides.

@@Blue-Mystic That's part of it probably. I dont remember if i saw shields down or not. Regardless, 44k Hull is still pretty tanky like the f8 hull. Which still is alot. Stock Sentinels have gotten nerfed into the ground this patch., the nose ATVS guns do absolutely nothing as long as you have even a sliver of shields.

This has nothing to do with you, but I happen to be watching this when this thought crystalized in my mind. So I'm just going to dump this here. I've been playing DCS a lot more again recently after the F-4E release, and it has made me realize how obnoxious the flight model in SC is. I've actually been having FUN learning to fly that old piece of junk, and trying to dogfight people in way better jets with it. Just getting a bomb on target is a bloody adventure. But it's been a fun and rewarding adventure. Unlike anything I've ever done in SC. Or TRIED doing, because nothing ever really works. Over years of SC, I seem to have forgotten that gaming was supposed to be fun. Honestly, I don't even know why I keep insisting on playing SC, when it clearly does absolutely nothing for me. Everything is broken. Everything is boring. And the people are just trolls, gankers, murderhobos, and all around unpleasant in the verse. Everything that made the dream of SC special has been skipped, walked back, forgotten, or just waylaid in the name of the almighty alpha; and now they seem to be on a dead sprint towards a vague 1.0 that we're somehow to believe will actually be good, when we've _never_ seen evidence that CIG is at all capable of producing engaging gameplay. Almost 12 years I've waited, and while a lot of progress has been made, the dream feels as far away as ever. As if we're just forever circling the drain instead of actually achieving anything. Honestly, I think I'm done. I'm sure no matter who gets to see this, all I'll get in return is a snarky "can I keep your hangar?" or "good riddance, filthy refundian".

I can understand your feelings. It's actually why I've been trying to branch out the channel more in case I decide I ever do want to step away from SC. Like you, I've also been learning DCS. I haven't gotten much further than cold starts and getting up in the air, but I'm seeing slow progress. I will be bringing it to the channel at somepoint

@@OneNutSupreme the hornet was also my first module. I still love flying it. Most of the time, I put together missions for myself for practice or specific scenarios. I also very much recommend the missions that come with it, and the campaigns you can buy for it.

As someone who still likes and plays SC, off and on, I also totally get how much frustration it causes, and don't fault anyone for not wanting to burn that energy if they're not getting enough out of it. Fly what's fun, whether it's DCS or otherwise, all the best.
