The "no ballistics for PVE" isn't true when you get to S5, the profit per hour of doing solo ERTs in a Corsair with four AD5B's and two S4 laser cannons outweights the time loss and restock costs. I think it's just slightly less profitable to go dual AD5B and dual energy cannon on a Connie, but I could be mistaken. For other bounty types with much softer ships than Hammerheads or piloting a ship with guns smaller than S5 hardpoints though... Lets just say I can't wait until they link ammo capacity with ship size. Having only enough rounds for one fight when you're flying a huge shop is a joke.

Ah good to know. I mostly play solo in smaller ships so the ballistics setup has never worked for me. When I start experimenting with bigger ships I'll give it a go.

Did mass drivers have a stupid charge up period (hold fire to shoot, with no way of preventing it firing when the period runs out) when you made this video? They seem to have it now and I hate it. Same problem as Elite Dangerous.

Laser cannon is a good all rounder and great for PVP. The scattergun is a bit of a meme weapon, you can have fun with it but I don't think they are great :)

gimbled is very nice and leads to a more relaxed play style for me. I recently got HOSAS though and nailing a target flying fixed feels really satisfying!

Yeah I don't upgrade shit I fly it the way it is... it's not just Spacebucks yer wasting when you fuck around with with all the upgrade crap... It's just not dialed in enough to make any real difference yet...

Wow, for sure replacing stock stuff matters in most situations. What doesn't currently matter is upgrading coolers and Power plants. Replacing shields for sure matter on most stock loadouts. I was able to do MRT's with a freaking pisces when I upgraded that and got four repeaters over the stock loadouts. Then there's a lot of ships with terrible stock weapon loadouts, such as the redeemers pilot weapons or super hornet. What good is a load out that's mostly ballistic if you only have 200 rounds? And what really makes a difference is replacing the stock quantum drive. With most stock quantum drives you can't go from MT to Crusader or arccorp without refueling. So you'd fit an atlas for size 1 slots. But as soon as you get to ships that have 9K and higher QT fuel reserves like a Connie and what not. You can fit the fastest drive and literally cut travel time by 60% which matters a LOT if your trading and mining. Speaking of Connies replacing the top size 4 repeaters for size five fixed cannons allows me to rip through hammerheads in a minute or two solo. Couldn't do that with the default load out. This allows me to grind the 259K high risk service beacons which can spawn up to three hammerheads.

@@NL0Gwenster And some ships just have awful standard loadouts like the Sabre Commet with 2 laser scatterguns and 2 laser cannons. It used to be worse before the reballance as these were the worst weapons of their type.

Some upgrades make a big difference like a good quantum drive or getting the right weapons. Some don't make a difference. I usually upgrade everything though because it feels nice to know your flying with a matching set of the good stuff
