Encountered a Polaris in my Connie yesterday and maaaaaaaaaan those PDCs were melting my shields like crazy when near enough to be shot by multiple ones.....sht's just crazy for now.

@ yeah but for now it's still crazy because even a single piloted Polaris can be a threat (at least for smaller ships) by just sitting there letting the AI PDC do its job. And that's what is defeating the purpose of a captial ship that is supposed to be used by at least a few people more to be nearly operatable, isn't it?Those cannons are laser too so no restock and no manual target selection or prioritizing needed. That is just screaming for a nerf after the IAE sale!😅

@@jgun-tv Sad thing is that instead of going the hard way of balancing PDC and all those connected systems and mechanics i think they're just going to reduce the ships maaaaaaaaaaaassive amount of hp or they'll significantly reduce shield hp so that the Polaris will go *pop* in no time.🤷🏻‍♂️ not that i wouldn't like to be able to pop a Polaris with my single seated Eclipse tho🤣

I just park my 890 close to them and watch pdcs anihilate them.. And the turrets are right beside pilot seat..and i can control up/down turrets xD with that beautiful view!

I had my Polaris ramps open and was driving the STM up one side and down the other when the PDCs opened up. I didn't last long.

well PDCs are new they will prob be OP right now but they will balance them since they need to be able to take down missiles but not just out right kill fighters that get to close at least not quickly since if you stay in the PDC range then its like trying to DPS check an Ion you will die lol

@@TrevTheMan00 I think a really easy fix here is to make PDC's ballistic only, thus giving them a ammo count before needing restocking. Give the copilot or captain the option to set the PDC to target selectable categories such as: Torps, missiles, ships, nothing. That way you can activly decided what is beeing needed for the current situation. giving you more control but also a limit on how much you can use them. especially interesting for extended combat. Eventually your PDC's will be out of ammo and you all of the sudden become severely more vulnerable.

Thank you. Settings in the game are all default, except I turn off post-processing effects like "film grain", "motion blur", "chromatic abberation", etc. I run at 4K. Computer specs are: - AMD 7800X3D - 64 GB DDR5 RAM in Expo mode - 4080 Super OC - NVMe SSD

I love tapped my Polaris with my F8C outside Tressler and the PDCs activated on me and Tressler lit up the Polaris and melted it in under 16 seconds

i tested it against VHRT mission where bigger ships spawn. my PDC did not shoot at them, only at the missiles they send to me. So far everything bigger than a MSR wasnt getting shot from my PDC´s

@@jgun-tv I’ve done the math, look at it this way, do ERT’s minimum crew just around 2-3 people 4 if you really wanted. Collect the illegal eggs from cats, load them up in cargo bay. Have 2 arrows one medical Pisces and a Argo tractor and personnel carrier. Take eggs to planet use the Argo tractor to easier take containers out. 2 32 scu containers of them sweet yummy eggs sell for almost 5 million. Split 2 million with the 2-4 people who are with you. On occasion go help a player that has a distress beacon. Advertise your org. Do bunkers and stock on weapons and armor, do the destroy drugs missions and only destroy the ones they ask and save any space eggs. Bam more than enough to compensate for fuel.

AI are dumb. Attacking a cap ship with a prospector? Really? Can't see it working, tried in a HH. When I did, they use balistics and go for your hull bypassing your shield. Alot of ships and the HH hull won't lastlong You get in a turret and have to wait ages for them to come into view then they out of view soon after, very frustrating. Against bigger targets , the torps will be shot down.

@@RedPhnix Try that against players, not NPCs. You'll get wrecked. Which is what CIG has always said they intended. You can solo but even with NPC crew, you will probably get beat by players. The Polaris being able to solo NPCs is no big deal and someone's solo play doesn't effect you, so what's the big deal?

Default settings, everything on hi. Downsampling disabled. I play in 4K, maybe that's why the resolution looks crisper? I'm on an AMD 7800X3D and an Nvidia RTX 4080 Super and 64 GB of RAM.

I see. I believe im on a 3070TI with 32gb ram. My screen looks like someone smeared vaseline over it and the polaris has some wierd visual bug where my character gets a wierd "sphere" around him when looking at it.
