Forgot how landing in a vertical take off bay is so similar to the childhood toy where you had to fit the plastic shape pieces into the appropriate shaped holes of a plastic 2 part globe. Except the landing bays are such a tight fit it ends up being more akin to a game of Operation.

Once you know how to adapt and adjust your use of boost on big ships, it gets easier. To cut to the chase, with small ships you tend to boost for hard straight-line acceleration, whether racing or dogfighting. With big ships you want to save your boost for attitude changes (pitch/yaw/roll) as much as possible. You can initiate a turn faster and stop more or a dime while boosting, meaning the boost affects maneuvering thrusters as well as main engines. Applying this knowledge to your flight technique will basically cancel out a lot of that "brick" feeling with bigger, yacht sized ships. Also ships like the Reclaimer or Carrack pretty much need to be in VTOL mode to cancel gravity when in atmosphere. Remember to take everything slower with a big ship, which fortunately gives you more time to plan ahead. Which brings me to my last tip, plan ahead, but also act ahead. Start any maneuver *before* you would have to in a light fighter. Every stage of a typical flight is going to take a little bit longer in a massive ship, but if you start slowing earlier than you might have, guaranteed your chances of spontaneous lithobraking go down.

the problem player have with the reclaimer, they think this ship breaks into pieces after a "hard landing" but on that thing there is no "soft" landing. just aim the landing zone and boostbreak into the ground, the ship will stand. gravity landings are the best and realistic thing i can imagine with a reclaimer it feels "correct"

But that's actually how it will be, they've talked about it several times and even showcased it too. Just like with weapon degradation, the ships will have this too. You literally have to get it cleaned, inside and out, if you don't want it to look like a public toilet after a while.

I don't think that would be cool if you had to do it yourself, that is something at this age, that far advanced thats something robots should do. And I think it would be 1st resource friendly and 2nd more fun, if robots would do that, if they occasionally came out of the walls from small spaces and just rush over the floor and it would get cleaned with that. In the year 2945 I don't want to be the one swinging a mob to clean something.

I have found people attempting to steal my Reclaimer many times, they use the top hatch to enter while I leave my hangar. I am always very paranoid when solo-salvaging...the ships design does not help my fear. I love the Reclaimer so much.

You missed being almost unable to take off under it's own power. And the cargo bays having terrible accessibility. And the fact that it even has multiple cargo bays for no good reason. And the now superfluous giant shredder that takes up half the interior. And the front lift being a tiny coffin that just stops working. And the black void where the rear cargo elevator is meant to be... I could go on.

Totally agree with the cargo bays, They are so poorly designed.. You can make the biggest SCU containers but they don't fit through the door to the lift properly. So much space and they had to make the door so damn small. Still hope that the rework just opens up the back with a big ass cargo elevator

Gotta add in getting stuck in an wall or the elevator due to crate rubberbanding. Or crates disappearing once you hit entity limit. Or crates janking their way out into space. Or sleeping in the crew quarters because the captains quarters is bugged. Or not being able to call the elevators so you have to take a ladder that ejects you from the ship. The crate filling bar being frozen. Using walkways for storage. Getting stuck on the far rear elevator that doesnt work or have a texturebecause you wanted to use the salvage hold. Crates falling into each other if stacked over 2 high in the elevator. Ships drifting away in weird ways after the fracture. Being annoyed that the 0.01 RMC wont let you make a clean 240 CM. Cooking yourself dinner while jumping with the stock drive. The claw hitting the hangar floor when landing, or the personnel elevator lifting the ship off the hangar floor when extended. The cargo elevator not always opening. Theres so much

Another humorous video, nice work. now that salvaging has no parts to be crunched in the bay with the grindy teeth behind the turret room, what is that room for? Ships turn into powder using the arm beam thingy and are then magic beamed into some holding tank before being pushed out in 16SCU boxes from another magic machine. So why not turn that grindy teeth room into more storage space? Also not sure who came up with the vertical layout of the work bays, but bravo for the most inexplicable layout. From processing, which for some reason has a 2 story observation deck to watch boxes come out of a machine, to a salvage cargo level above another cargo level for some unknown reason. Why not just make it a 1 height processing area with no stupid balcony and then a triple height cargo deck below that? No sliding 16 SCU boxes through multiple doorways and elevators. Honestly, not even sure what need there is for a processing level anymore since it is just creating boxes. Maybe we just have a 4 level cargo bay with a couple box makers at one end? I mean the Vulture can do it that way, why does the reclaimer need an entire floor of space to push out 2x 16scu boxes at a time?
