I remember from the contest, there is indeed a tube that extends from that bottom area into the gunner seat to allow the gunner access without being exposed to space. I imagine then once he's in place, the tube retracts to allow the turret free mobility. :) Looks fantastic. Great video. Thanks!

G'day TA, To enter the lower turret you sit in the seat and a telescopic tube extends to the back of the turret which you then travel through, doors shut, tube retracts and your ready for combat. The reason the Redeemer holds 32 freight units is because the cargo room at the rear on the top deck is designed to accept a standard "Store Al" container. The container is positioned under the tail of the Redeemer and the the hatch at the rear of that compartment opens up and a loader runs out on a rail on the underside of the tail and drops down some cables to at the container which it then winches up and runs back inside the room! Here is an old video of how the cargo crane works (they got told on TNGS to change it so it accept a standard "Store Al") Very unique and very cool! Four Horsemen - March update - Interior + Crane The area behind the cockpit is the engineering bay and the things you where speculating where escape pods are the rear of the shield generators. It is meant to have three 3 bunks with the top bunk is just not animated correctly. These bunks are also the crews escape pods I REALLY like the white with black trim colour scheme of the Avenger so I hope the livery becomes an option soon! Great tour mate! :)

Something I've noticed from watching ALOT of theses Star Citizen videos: it's good to see that fire extinguishers don't evolve any in the 300+ years after space travel becomes an everyday occurence.

A cylinder takes up less space than a sphere or box of the same volume. Also, the color red best represents both danger and fire, so I doubt anything could be done to improve the design of the fire extinguisher.

A fire extinguisher is more than just the container? Who says the chemical inside hasn't changed. If you could somehow gather the air in the room back into a pressurized canister then the flame wouldn't have fuel and would go out.

I love this ship. I actually voted for it. One thing I didnt realize though; was all the space used for "recreation". They should've made the upstairs more like a debriefing room or a place to store extra missiles. Its a military gunship! Not an armored motel room! Military tanks don't have coffee makers! Haha! I guess you could use it for battles far away from home. I also hope that if you are a passenger in a ship, waiting 15-20 minutes to get to your destination, you can switch the camera to look at this ship from space. It will get boring sitting in that little room waiting to get to the battlefield.

Well that would actually depend on the kind of mission the ship would be designed for. People need amenities if they are to stay aboard for longer than a day or so - if you wanted a military gunship capable of independent missions longer than a day, you need to sacrifice some of the vessels internal space to accommodate the people inside. *shrugs* So it doesn't really seem weird to me.

Ever heard of the SU-34? Even though it's a fighter-bomber, it was designed with crew comfort in mind, as it's designed to fly for a long period of time. It's got a wide cabin and flight deck, which includes a bathroom for the crew and enough space for the crew to walk around in (and lie down if necessary). So, imagine the Redeemer, which IMO one would use for medium to long range travels in space. You would clearly need the recreational areas of the ship (especially if you have a large crew). Plus, long distance and no coffee? that's madness :P

Looks like a vehicle could be mounted up there at tail section for planet-side sorties, like the Pelican and Warthog in Halo. Great looking ship, it'll probably be my 1st crew capable ship but I really like the Constellation too.

The only thing I don't like about this ship is that it only carries seats 6 marines in the cargo bay. If this is suppose to be a ship that carries regular grunts, that's not even a full squad; 12-13 people including squad leader if we follow the model of the USMC, or 8 people if we follow the German/Austrian/Swiss's Gruppe model. If they can make room in the cargo bay for at the least another 2 seats, this transport ship would be perfect. Chris Roberts, if you're reading this, at the very least add two more passenger seats in the Redeemer, please. EDIT: Unless this ship is reserved for Spec Ops infiltrators & RSI is going to create a completely separate dropship for infantry grunts that can carry a full-size-squad, then that works too.......actually, that'll work even better!

I mean to clarify, I think that if this ship is meant to be used to transport Special forces/black ops infiltrators to infiltrate enemy lines, add on stealth systems if they haven't already & this ship would already be perfect. They have a place for the operators to rest up, and a little bit of supplies to take them further behind the lines. They have a stasis pod incase they captured a HVT, they have a place to hold him/her. But I'm assuming that this ship is meant to transport regular grunts, which if that's so they'll need more room in the passenger seats. They could either create a separate ship specifically to transport grunts, or (as you said) give us the option to add at least two more seats.

I agree, it needs at least two more seats. Otherwise it looks like it would really be a good ship to own as a FPS player. People could have a clan going with a few of these in the fleet and engage in PvE or PvP encounters in the verse. I still think a properly outfitted Cutlass could act as a budget version, though. Especially with the Cutlass blue having better armor and shields.

Harrada I talked about that before too with someone else. The problem with that is that it's blazingly obvious that it's not economical. First, you'll be buying two ships to do a single ship's job rather than one ship to carry more people. That costs money! Also, if RSI is going to go deep in the immersion, you'll be eating up twice the fuel. Two ships would also take up twice the space in the hangar. You'll also have two ships to maintain & to buy parts for. Second, if you considered the ship's crew, if you do the math it actually requires more total manpower to have two ships transporting one squad than to have one ship transporting the same squad. And if for whatever reason, one ship has to be redirected, the firepower of the squad is halved. Also if you're really worried about "putting all your eggs in one basket" & having more casualties, you can always have a dropship with 12 seats but leave a few of them empty instead of now where you are seriously lacking manpower & having be forced to used more fuel & redeemer crew in order to have the same level of efficiency of deploying the same number of troops in a short amount of time.

- when entering the ship, past the seats left and right. the 3 and 3 things are lockers for the people who are suppose to set there. since they equal numbers of the seats. u most have a space with whoever is traveling with you can keep his/her belongings. - moving up the stairs what you called "escape pods" which are way too small imho for t hat, the 3 left and right are shield generator modules. I'm guessing the redeemer is heavily dependent on defense to have all these shield generators. but perhaps 2 are shield generators and the rest are modules for other purposes. but I'm sure one of them is since when u came close to it's monitor you can see "two arcs" above and below the ship diagram which suggest a bubble surrounding it like a shield.

With regards to how one enters the bottom manned turret, once you activate the bottom turret seat an extending tunnel connects the bottom turret to the ship itself, providing a safe route through which the seat slides into the turret. The extending tunnel collapses, leaving the turret with a free range of motion. This process was shown off in one of the later episodes of TNGS.

Idea: Players on deck onboard a ship can have the option of viewing what is going on around the vessel through mounted cameras. Of course, a ship would need to be modified for the cameras, and everyone on deck will need a sort of monitor to view it, which can be on their helmet or a tablet.

Damnit, I want this so bad but I can't afford it... the price of it will cut into the money to get a computer decent enough to actually run Star Citizen. Oh well, guess it's the way my luck is... I desire cool things but no amount of effort seems to permit me to get them. Enjoy your Redeemer regardless. Also, I think those "Lockers" below in the troop bay may be the escape pods... the things in the gangway are the shield generators, easily accessible in order to permit inflight repairs. One thing I'm puzzled about is where the missile bay is, since the brochure states that the Redeemer can carry missiles in addition to it's guns; I wonder if it'll be like the Freelancer MIS, carrying it's missile reloads in the cargo bay?

I'd get the ship now with LTI since after the 10th LTI will be removed and buy the computer later. The game is over a year from being done, and that's optimistic. That's just my opinion but that's also what I did! :D

you know the animations was in the contests. the tail i that long since it works as a crane for the storage contaner hidden over the entrance. aka the whole cargo area as a container. regarding the gun a metal shoot will extend so no EVA needed. i think they are power systems as faar as i recall.

I dont fucking get it, so far into the future and the turrets still have to be manned like in WW2. I mean for crying out loud Apache, C17, Battle ships and even Drones all have movable unmanned turrets but yet in far future we go back to using manned turrets ? How about making turrets that don't have occupants and instead control them from stations inside of the vehicle using VR goggles or some shit. Did no one in Star Citizen watch Matrix or played Battlefield 2142 ?

I agree 2142 if you move 2 feet a drone kills you before you even move. Games become a excel spreadsheet. Do you want to play a game or chess. SC is a game. Do you want to play a future game that is bases on chess moves. Or a game that is fun to play?

Under the tail it needs a pair of size 2s remote controlled by the pilot. Why? Because when it lands the exiting marines are vulnerable. Also it would serve as double duty to protect the one really indefensible spot from fighters when flying. 2 s2 are no powerhouses but might keep a ship further away, yet they are enough to trash an enemy on foot. Even a single s1 would help to defend landing troops, add a smoke canister launcher too.

While old, it is my conviction that many ships that sport a particularly unique system can be swapped out modularly for other things like holding cells. This ship as is.... Is pretty compact and does not have a ton of room to swap out. Unfortunately I don't see this thing having an optional holding cell module, of course it's far from done, even when I'm writing this comment. It's entirely possible the new design will have more room for such optional bells and whistles, it'd certainly raise the ship in my estimation if it did.

Great ship, picked one up yesterday. It would be really cool if you could replace the rear cargo area with a manned gun of some type. It could serve as a weapon to keep the tail clear in flight and cover the boarding team during insertions. I'm going to sketch up some ideas on this and post them to the RSI site.

If you get behind and slightly below this ship it can't defend itself and it's only option would be to evade or re adjust to give it's turrets a better firing arc. If this ship goes up against a more manuverable ship in a 1v1 it has a high chance of losing.

Fuel has yet to be really fleshed out in game, so it'll likely be a bit before we know more on that. I believe most of the larger ships do come with jump drives, and all of the smaller ships (with a few exceptions) can be equipped with them aftermarket.

Still love your video's man, well done! Now we just have to wait till this monster gets an overhaul :) Side Note: This gunship isn't even finished as it is. The circular shape on the engines (where the two connect blades connect) houses unmanned-turret on each side too. Both Gladius and redeemer released, the 2 best looking ships.. new flight module released thats fucking awsome, I just finished all 15 waves with a Aurora, New excellent FPS-presentation.. LTI is only available on the redeemer for I think 10 days after it was on sale.

Quickis LTI wont be a big deal in the game anyway but yes lti end on the redeemer on the 10th LTI is a limited sale, however the redeemer after the 10th will have standard insurance

It depends on how long you live ;). Get a free redeemer for the rest of your life is quite sweet. Just add modules... they really need to fix their webpage. If its Limited sales it shouldnt be a secret. It should be in "Buying info"... All we need is a extra line of text.
