Got all 4 Vanny variants. I love these ships and it really hurt me what CiG did to them. Modularity is almost dead for the sake of sales. Yes, the Hoplite model was better worked out and should be used for the others as well.

the vanguard hoplite was my first love in this game, it has now been upgraded to a prowler but this baby will always be my favorite ship to fly

Im glad I kept my Hoplite. They will undo the nerf mostly so thats good. And it should be fun gameplay, first drop your orgmates on the planet and then provide air support.

macrolec Should be more Fighter than Dropship since its a fighter which can be a dropship. So it should be strong and fight well, although its really bad atm

this is just the hoplite. there's the harbinger/bomber and, my favorite, the sentinel/ewarfare. these have yet to be built so the aegis style should be well instituted by then giving us amazing ships. can't wait!

If they had reentry armor. You can jump out of a ship in orbit and the armor takes the heat of entry, deploys a wingsuit so you can glide then a parachute to land. That would make for some intense incursions into a hostile environment.

I cannot wait to be part of a planet side war as a marine, being dropped in from this thing to defend my guilds outpost. With the hammerheads raining doom onto the surface and hornets zooming around overhead.

They are overhauling the standard vanguard as well. Obviously this one is much more polished.

Vanguard reminds me of the bf 110. It tries to be a "heavy" fighter but performs better as an interceptor. Germany wanted a 'fighter' with two engines that could reliably cross the english channel and still have fuel to spare.. but quickly they came to realize that it couldn't keep up with much nimbler adversaries... yet, despite its lack of agility I sorta like it this way. I could get flak for saying this but I like the way they're taking it. It just needs to do alot more damage with that gatling gun to justify the crap turning rate

I think its to make sure there is one ship that cant do everything , the vanguard line already has a Fighter, Bomber, E-War, and Dropship, a cargo variant would be too much.

the ship is impressiv, it looks damag from inside which is a little sad but its ok. can you tell us the movespeed afterburner ? my avenger stalker 695 ABR so i guess this one move faster. It is bigger than Avenger so i guess it is going to be hard to dodge shot, i dont know. Love your video +1

I really hope they un-nerf the Vanguard. It's the ship that, in idea, I love the most. But in its current state I'm really questioning my purchase.

I'm sorry, but I have to ask, what are you on ? The Vanguard Hoplite has the same geometry (and cockpit) as the Warden except for the mission/rear section... The only difference is the paint job that gives it a different feel. The main difference between the 2.6.3 and 3.0 models is that in 3.0 animations are borked so the landing gear trap doors are shown closed instead of open as they should be (giving the impression of sleeker lines on the ground, but both models have the same bug), the wings are shown extended instead of retracted, etc...

Dedicated dropships will perform the task better, but this has a good amount of offensive use, as well. Gameplay-wise I could see it being fun dropping off a squad for an assault, then taking to the air to support them or run interference on enemy gunships. It would give the pilot something to do while the assault crew is doing their thing.
