The star-delta transformation, also known as the Y-Δ transformation, is a technique used in electrical engineering to simplify complex electrical networks. It allows the conversion of a three-phase system with a star (Y) configuration to an equivalent system with a delta (Δ) configuration or vice versa.
The star configuration refers to a connection where three impedance elements or loads are connected to a common point, forming a Y shape. The delta configuration, on the other hand, refers to a connection where the three elements or loads are connected in a closed loop to form a triangle or delta shape
