Sir with all due respect do you know what a proof means? I'm sorry to say this but what you have done is similar to 2+3 = 5 then 2= 5-3 so then again 2+3=5 hence proved

Sir you have said that we are going to prove star to delta conversion and first u have took three equations top of that heading is delta to star and after sometime heading has been changed to star to delta we are confused by that sir

Figure1 is a conceptual diagram of two single-phase transformer connected in parallel. Figure 2 illustrates the equivalent circuit of the two single-phase transformer circuit of figure 1. Assuming the above two single-phase transformer equivalent circuit is wrongly connected with a coil length, DY of impedance, Z = R + jX and two lengths of cables that interests at point M; forming a star connected circuit of three branches with resistance: Rk3, Rk1, and Rk2 .Derive 1a.The expression for the total impedance of the equivalent circuit of Fig.3 1b.The expression of the source current, Is of the equivalent circuit of fig.3 1c.Assuming cable DY is disconnected from the circuit, derive the expression for the new total impedance of the circuit.

So on 4:01 to 4:20 you converted ( y to Delta) configuration is that right? My question asked assume you have a Y configuration of resistors where each resistor in Y has a value of 60 ohms convert the Y to delta configuration

That mean, in exam if they ask to 'prove star to delta conversion' , first i should do delta to star, later with those equations i should prove star to delta... Am i correct?? Or can i write delta to star expression in first ( like W.K.T ) and can i prove star to delta further?? Please answer me..

why it is necessary to equate the delta with star for delta to star conversion. And why adding and subtracting the equation in delta to star? It is like memorising the steps. will you elaborate?

Dear Sudharsan, As both DELTA and STAR networks, are equivalent network so we can perform all these operations. (Multiplying and equating etc.). If you still feel it's just mathematical steps, then what I would suggest you find the current at each node in both the networks. And as both the networks are the equivalent network, so current at each node will be same. So, you can equate them. And from there also you will get the same equation for the conversion. I hope, it will clear your doubt.

Sir doubt at adding eq 4 5 6 How the square terms of Rab Rbc and Rac goes. Can u explain that

when you add equation 4, 5, and 6, Rab Rbc and Rac will be common in all three terms, If you just take them out (i.e Rab*Rbc*Rac) then you will have (Rab +Rbc+Rac)*(Rab*Rbc*Rac) Please pause a video at 5:47 and look for a while, you will be able to get it.

Please check carefully, only Rab*Rbc*Rac will be common. Each term has one only one square term (e.g Rab^2*Rbc*Rac +Rab*Rbc^2*Rac +Rab*Rbc*Rac^2) So, only Rab*Rbc*Rac will be common.
