I hear it did very poorly in Japan, and essentially faded into obscurity there. It only really found a cult status in the UK, mostly with the Anderson crowd who probably mistook it for one of his shows. 🤷♂️

Oh my, the great memories of this show on Saturday mornings in the Uk in the 80's, when you were young. This is by far for me the best puppet series ever, I use to run downstairs when it came on. You just couldn't wait until Dai X joined together to fight Commander Makara. Its great that they released the box set, but I still prefer my old grainey Vhs ones I had originally recorded. Please no remakes leave this series be, it's a classic all by itself.

if i recall, it was the last decent thing on saturday mornings, before all that grandstand wrestling shit came on. at that point, i walked up town to buy a mastertronic 1.99 game for my c16 while drinking a big can of top deck from the off licence :)
@billcarson9565 Жыл бұрын
@@barrygibson1848 you bought the game :) i would back it up from a mate tape to tape, good times! my c16 eventually died as the port you plugged the tape player into lifted of the board and the tracks were damaged, in hindsight now if I had it I could have repaired it myself....

Loved this program with a passion. Used to spend ages trying to make the ships out of lego.... I actually did a decent lego X Bomber to be fair. Used to literally wait patiently for the three ships to combine and make Dai X. Great times, the 80's, what a time to be a kid.

Last time I watched this in the UK was on Sunday mornings back in 1984, when the show was still brand new. Oh my days, this is memories! I knew this wasn't Gerry Anderson as he had a show around that time called *"Terrahawks."*
@creepingdread88 Жыл бұрын
It was first shown in 1982. Once my favourite ever programme, Star Fleet, had ended, they showed Terrahawks. I was not happy, Terrahwaks was weird and I hated it. My Mum asked me what was wrong, because I wasn't watching Saturday morning TV. I was just lying on the floor looking at the ceiling, trying to understand why anyone would stop showing Star Fleet and instead show crappy, weird Terrahawks! haha

Which I’ve never (until now) been able to remember the title of, to find. Until today, when it randomly popped up in a search, that (and they weren’t even searching for anything remotely the same) another person who was on KZbin at the time was doing. Brilliant, such a cool show, with great Music; Thunderbirds in Space (well, all in space, as a pose to No5 and No3)
