@@joseluki There is. You just have to be pretty good at the game. Defending all enemy squards and missiles and destroying enemy bases and batter carriers to prevent them to sending more of those. With that said, it's still very overwhelming for a first timer. If you still find it hard, try to collect all Golden coins to unlock the secret base. Which has all items and twin laser upgrade, plus the homing charge shot upgrade. Which make fighting enemies much easier.

@@veronikaalberda8841 If you mean 99% then technically yes. The game will not enter a lose state unless you get to 100%. Though it's probably really rare to get that exact number (dunno if it is even possible to be honest) Though at that point, your point bonus is gonna be pitiful. As 0% damage will give you a whopping 60,000 points at the end of the game.

You don't need one. The ROM was circulated right after the SNES Classic came out and there is an emulator (byuu) that can emulate the SNES exactly 1:1 in terms of performance so you can play this more authentically than you can on an SNES Classic.

Thanks to that Hunter shenanigan (Space Blade) you had to sacrifice the last 2 bombs to keep the speed run going during the Wolf fight. But that aside, the run was great.

IIRC it's worse because Nintendo's emulator is inferior to what has existed on PC forever. SF2 is definitely worse on the SNES classic.

@@protocetid In the POV of a speedrunner, a speedrunner will often play on the natural way of a first released videogame which originally came for. It's like Mother for Famicom, that game released for Famicom only, but if you want to play the american version, Nintendo launched the game for the first time in the US on the Virtual Console form, which is the only official release. The *"tl;dr"* of this is to play the game in the *official* and purist way possible.
