I have to say, hearing James being such an encouraging figure to his son was nice. We hear a lot about him and his impact on Fox, but we never really learn about him as a person in the games. I just realized that I had a reaction to him telling his son he did a good job, and makes me long for the days when my father used to tell me that, and how that made me feel. Good stuff. Keep up the good work.

A good tutorial adds a lot to the initial experience. Especially something like this to give us a reason to see why Fox looks up to his dad so much, since we won't really get the chance to see James during the main campaign.

I agree, plus since most of us interested in this project are already thoroughly invested in Star Fox lore, having normal interactions between Fox and James is just all the more heart warming. Obviously this should still be an optional training program the way it was presented in StarFox 64, but you get to have it as a sort of fond memory of Fox's instead of the more arcade game feel of the N64 game's familiarization level.

Alexander Ross, if you are seeing this, AMAING JOB. And how it works so wholesome, like some saying a Father taking there son out on the Range, and why Fox looks up to James, and at the end, the music really fits for Fox's final test, and what James says, that is really wholesome, though that might be the last thing he ever says to his son, we all know what happens. I absolutely love this and the different mechanics it adds to the experience, especially how quick and efficient the U-turn is compared to the original. But am I the only one who thinks that the R-Wing should remain static at all times unless the player moves it forward, followed by a normal acceleration *and* a boost? It wouldn't only make the ship feel more like a natural evolution of a sci-fi ship (not needing to worry about constant movement like real airplanes) but it would be so much easier to navigate that way, and make all-range battles easier for taking down foes, instead of having to circle around them whenever the ship moves by it.
@UndyingNephalim Жыл бұрын
Having the Arwing move at all times was a concession to make the game's controls all fit on a Gamecube controller.
@Jason-Skywalker Жыл бұрын
@@UndyingNephalim What does that mean? Is the Gamecube controller simply incapable of that function? I'm fine with that if that's the case, but does that imply that there can be different controller settings if the game were to be ported for (or emulated for) other consoles and/or controller systems? Like if I were to play it with a mouse and keyboard, or with a PS3 controller, or even on the Nintendo Switch or something. I don't own a Gamecube controller, so I wouldn't be able to use that exclusively anyway. 😆

@@Jason-Skywalker No I mean that there are insufficient buttons on most controllers to accommodate too many functions.
