I absolutely LOVE the idea of Andross having a creepy shape shifting head/mask/vessel/whatever I wish we saw more of it in Zero. Morphing into various disturbing alien shaped heads as he uses them against you in various different ways. Swiping at you with a wierd deformed giraffe head and scurrying after you with bug legs and the like.

Hmm...a few details interest me about this level. Andross' lair is vertical, so Fox is basically flying down towards the core of the planet. That also means the Face is facing up towards the sky. Also, the Face tilts a little before its features actually appear, I think that was a neat touch.

I still remember the very first time I played this boss fight. My jaw hit the floor when Andross revealed his "demon" form, and the first time I beat him I was literally on my last life, one hit away from death. I still consider beating Level 3 to be one of my greatest accomplishments as a gamer!

Caio Leite I kinda prefer some of the simple but dark lore of this game. Something about the original Star Fox has more of a menacing presence when compared to other games. Most of all is that I think Star Fox on the SNES has such a kick-ass soundtrack. 64 to me is definitely greater in gameplay, but I lose a lot of the experience when playing because the soundtrack is pretty shitty with a couple exceptions.

I love how many people are complaining that starfox 64 was better. Without this, starfox 64 would have never existed. This is the SNES, people, this thing existed long before the N64 did. It's not going to be 'OMFGLOOKATDEMGRAFIX', and it's definitely not going to look better. But this game is a very special one. Never have I thrown so much time into completing a game.

That's how a sequel is supposed to be. Look at Super Mario. The first game did so much for gaming as a whole...but that doesn't change the fact that Mario 3 and World are much better. As for Star Fox, I feel that 64 is the better game myself. SF64 was the first one that I played (and that factors in pretty big, admittedly), and while I do think this one has a unique atmosphere to it (not to mention it's just really impressive for a 16-bit console game) but that still doesn't change that, both on a personal and objective level, there are just things that SF64 does better, making it an arguably better game as a result.

It depends on the last planet you do right before venom, if you end at the alternative base (not the cubic one), the Flight on venom will be much shorter, and right before going in to fight andross, you'll be against the Star Wolf team, then after defeating andross as usual, the fight against him in brain form starts. Also, this is the "right" path because at the end of the credits, andross' face doesn't appear in the sun, laughing, when you beat it this way.
