The SPC700 chip was such a fantastic sound chip. There are games on Super Famicom/Super Nintendo that out perform PSX and some PS2 games that used sequenced audio.

The SNES was capable of a great number of things! It is the greatest device Nintendo has ever conceived!

@@DakariKingMykan That game wasn’t truly a 3D game. It had an isometric view with art design to make it *look* 3D. It was simply due to things such as clever shading. Mode 7 might have helped out at times, too; like during the mine cart minigame in Moleville. Mario wasn’t moving on an actual 3D plane. Rather, Mode 7 made it look that way, as it did for other games. The only reason the SNES could handle Star Fox (even then, with poor framerate some of the time) was because of the embedded Super FX chip in each cartridge. Stunt Race FX had it too, as did Yoshi’s Island, but the latter had it mostly for enabling the game to stretch sprites.

@@wantedwario2621 Fun fact; the Super Famicom, or Japanese SNES, could actually connect to the Internet using a special adapter. As far as I know, this was to enable the Japanese to bet on horse races, but you’d also need a special type of SNES controller with a built-in PIN pad. Unfortunately, those are hard to find here (assuming you live in the States), and are not compatible with the NA SNES.
