I finally realized why weak spots are so visible: In all likelyhood, those are exhaust ports, glowing from all of the heat they have to dump to prevent the machines from being cooked when they can't use conduction or convection to keep them cool in space. as such, they are much more closely connected to the vital parts of the ship, and destroying them also makes overheating an increasingly bigger threat.

spindash64 That makes way too much sense. I’d say the energy effect is plasma: either from vented gas coming into contact with the extremely hot exhaust, or simply the metal of the port ionizing as it gets too hot.

It was sad already for him (although Peppy survived, thankfully), so I don’t let you imagine if it was Fox or Slippy. It would be a huge loss for him.

He shows the extent of his worry. They may think he’s a nag but he does keep the team together and in line. And having him not be there to bark orders makes the team feel empty. Which will probably affect their moral and performance. Especially since titania is considered a level SSS threat and should be avoided at all cost. They all could of died there if they didn’t keep their wits about them.

Also I’d like to point out listen to the difference in Slippy’ tone when he says “enemy shields analyzed” after falco says “no time to celebrate we have a fight on our hands”.You can tell it hit them that if they hadn’t got there they really could of lost peppy. They made this fight personal. You deal with one of us, you deal with all of us.
