Nice pattern! Heads-up on 2 things in the written instructions though: you might want to change the equal sign to a + sign in 4=1 for # of sts to co, and I think step 1 should end with "k last 2 sts"? Anyway, thanks for an easy, pretty design!

Your "yarnover" is actually a 'reverse yarnove'r because you wrap the yarn over the needle from back to front and then under from front to back - instead of under from back to front and then over from front to back which is a true yarnover. So. Should I knit a yarnover (which you tell us to do) or a reverse yarnover (like you knit)?
@Psykotika9 жыл бұрын
+Natalie Ford I'm doing a star stitch project that's basically the same stitch as this the difference being that I do a normal yarn over and a row of knits in between each row of stars - or flat knots - and it looks pretty much exactly the same. You can change up the size of your needle depending how open you want it to look. So I do not believe it matters, also you can do purls or knits, as long as you pick one and stick with it. (changes which side of your work is the right and wrong side is all)
@JoannesWeb9 жыл бұрын
+Natalie Ford - So, as long as you have the yarn go over (around) the right needle as to make another stitch, you're good.
@galeem7139 жыл бұрын
+Natalie Ford or a wrap, not a regular yarn over.

Lovely stitch! Love watching your hands! I have made three shawls and each time I make sure the project is in a different stitch. Can't wait to use this one. Love the suggestion below regarding crescent shawl increase - I am assuming purl and increase until enough stitches for increments of 4, plus 1. Please confirm that this is accurate. Thank you!!! :)

just curious, what is the significance of knitting the three stitches through the back as opposed to knitting them like a regular knit stitch? will it make much of a difference either way? i am learning this stitch for the first time and i like it!

you can put some stitch markers at the start and at the end, so you know what stitches are from the pattern and what stitches are on the edges
@Seekknockask6 жыл бұрын
how many stitches should I cast on for a medium size baby blanket?
@JoannesWeb6 жыл бұрын
Please make a swatch with 21 stitches, with the yarn and the needles you are using. Then measure what 21 stitches gives you in inches. Everyone knits differently, so making a swatch matters. Once you know how wide you want the baby blanket, multiply your stitches to the measurement you need.
@Seekknockask6 жыл бұрын

When you showed the go side product, it seemed that some of the lace was darker than the other stars. Was this just the type of yarn you were using or perhaps the lighting?

hi, thank you for the Star Lace Stitch, it is beautiful. Q: after cast-on when i start Row #1 am i K3 into the cast on stitches? or should i knit one entire row first? thanks
@JoannesWeb7 жыл бұрын
Row 1 is immediately after the cast on stitches.
@CatEyesKiki8 жыл бұрын
I cant even do the first 3 stitches because the cast on stitcthes seem to tight...but I had redone the cast on stitches much more loosely and I STILL cannot knit the first few stitches. I'm using the same type of yarn you are using but with 5mm needles. What am I doing wrong??
@JoannesWeb8 жыл бұрын
You might want to cast on with 2 needles held together, then take 1 needle off your stitches and knit with it. Some people have a hard time with casting on stitches tight.

Hello Dear !! I'm new sub ,If I want to do a scarf with this stitch then how can I end it up or finish it? Please, I Hope you understand my question. Thank you!
@JoannesWeb9 жыл бұрын
+sheetal kaur If you start with 1 knit row and 1 purl row, you finish the same: k 1 row, p 1 row and bind off all in knit, as usual.
