To cap off a week spent with a group of 20 legendary travelers, we spent the night sleeping in a pod hanging off the side of a cliff. This is the Starlodge, nestled in the sacred valley about an hour drive north of Cusco. Join us as Dusty faces his fears on the via ferrata and rambles in the hot tub about the beautiful people we met in Peru.

I see that you are wearing a Dexcom. Do you have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes. I am worried about my insulin pump not working above 10,000 feet.

Hi there. Good eye. Yep, Im type 1. I use an Omnipod and I didn't have any problems. I spent about 2 weeks in Huaraz which sits at about 10,000 feet and went on several hikes, one to 15,000 feet. Definitely consult your doctor, but if you're worried, you could always pack some syringes and a slow acting insulin as a backup.
