Np buddy. I found it on Spotify, and as far as I can tell this is one of the first (and possibly only way) you can listen to this track. I looked all over youtube and couldn't find it, lo-and-behold, I found out they hadn't even started selling it yet? So I found it through Amazon, recorded my computer's audio while it was playing, and put it up here and on soundcloud.

Ngl I get the same thing. And it's not a nostalgia thing cause I've never played star ocean before. Then again maybe it is cause it kinda reminds me of a song from Inuyasha. Regardless I still tear up when listening and it's been confusing me as well

There is science and music theory behind it that could explain that I'm sure :) for my quick amateur music theory glance, the chord progression is based a lot on Canon in D. Which is the most classic nostalgic melody you can imagine!
