Personally I don't like Mac and I think PC is absolutely fine to record because you have so much more freedom 😅 The recorder I use is free, and I also used to use FRAPS which was good for shorter videos free. Just my opinion

Try using OBS studio on Windows, I've never encountered that problem. Otherwise I'd say use Window capture and choose star stable or use display capture
