When SSO was a baby their chat filter was too good. We couldn’t say numbers at all so would get around that by using words that were similar. Some I remember are On, too, tree, for, hive, sticks, heaven, ate, shine, and tin. Those were our sub words for 1-10 😂

I've seen worse things said in Star Stable global chat than I have in actual 18+ games. I was in a dressage club and we, over the span of about a month, had to switch from the typical, and usual "pre set go" to "set set go" or "pep set go" due to their awful filter system, however I could open global minutes later and see the most vile stuff. I switched from a larger server to a smaller one to avoid seeing the freaky stuff in global chat, but I STILL see the awful things people manage to bypass the filter with in the smaller servers. I couldn't ask an innocently dumb question in the friends chat but people can explain sexual acts to children in the global chat. SSO needs to make it make sense.

Agree. I don't know if it's just because i'm italian, but sometimes i can't even write a letter to my club about an event. It's ridicolous. Once we couldn't even speak italian :/, but luckily they fixed it. I can't tell my member where to come for an event, but other people can say THOSE things. Hope SSO will listen to us and try to resolve this issue. Thank u for talking about that, maybe SSO will understand how urgent this is

Ok this is a rant in coming: As someone that still goes on Nightstar soley because of it being the first server I was on since the beginning of playing SSO in 2012, it’s astronomical that after almost 12+ years that we still don’t have something as simple as live moderators and a report system. With the ambassador series I was in almost 2 years ago now touching on how poorly they did the moderators the first time, you’d think they’d work on making a better system and have better moderators that are adults, actually not only do their job, and are also not be power hungry. But nope they still put so much faith in this damn filter that has time and time again still manages to say any cuss word, slurs (ESPECIALLY THE N WORD), and other inappropriate shit leaning to sexual shit is disgusting. Yet I can’t even say innocent words like “ice cream” and “disco”. You’d think after many situations of racism being shown in this game, they’d be more aware and take action to it, but the most they’ve done in terms of defending people was when the updated characters came out and yet they STILL put faith in the damn filter. I hope to god with the announcement they sent today they finally make an actual moderator system and make the filter better, but with them constantly saying to go to their already shitty customer service makes me doubtful they’ll fully will and it shouldn’t have to be like that to where people have to go do a social uproar to do it and yet no bans occur to these people. Global shouldn’t be so unsafe with how many people doing this shit let alone it shouldn’t get into the state it’s been for years. It’s just so sad that every time we want something to get fixed, we have to do so much for a problem to finally get solved after years of this game existing😕

This is one of my reasons why i no longer play on nightstar, the chat is actually very dangerous now. I feel sorry for the players that use the chat heavily, I turned it off because of how explicit people are. The slurs are hurtful and dangerous. Thank you for putting this out. As someone who is on the younger side and has been playing since I was like..7..8..? It’s disgusting the things I have seen and naively done. Like you, I don’t go anywhere near the chat. I am on pumpkin meadow, but I’m not involved with any socializing there unless it’s with my club. It’s just horrific what kids have to deal with on the game. I do my best to protect them if there are creeps, but there shouldn’t have to be battles going on in a chat because the game won’t fix their issues. They put out a story saying they are aware and fixing it, probably because of you & Sammi speaking on it. I just hope it’s enough.

This is the exact reason why I'm moving servers. I'm currently on Night Star and I never open chat but when I do, it's so unhinged. I know NS has pretty much always been crazy but recently it's gotten out of hand. SSO definitely needs to step in and make some MAJOR changes to the chat system. Also, I don't think you were too harsh in this at all! I share the same frustration!💙

the issue i have with gamemasters is that they MAKE THEMSELVES KNOWN.. gamemaster koko is sweet and amazing i love her ( shes the only one ive seen) but she instantly says hi in global when she logs on, like obviously everyone is gonna calm down while shes there, yesterday she was on i think and as soon as she left global was full of people threatening to sa eachother and slurs.. thats the issue i have, game masters should lay low for a little and watch the chat.. because everyday i see this issue, i just moved servers due to seeing all that..

Today I was joining a wild role and we have a new filter passer, because it filters certain descriptive words, "necklace necklace". This person took advantage of this, and said a decently vile word. I screenshotted it, but I haven't reported it to SSO because I've honestly never had this happen before, and I have no idea if reporting it will actually do anything at all. Fact for sure. There's also the fact that Star stable is promoting horse abuse into the game now. The American saddlebred's there's a detailed study on how the horses are trained and they're tails being surgically lifted. The dutch warmblood's how they're forced into the position in training. there's another content creator that explicitly goes over all of it. As much as I like star stable they have some serious issues to fix.

Some of the stuff that people say in global is just awful. Star Stable needs to know about this! Someone needs to pin SSO to make them aware of this issue. Star Stable ban words like KZbin, Channel or subscribe or even video when used in specific context, but they don't seem to ban slang versions of swearing or sexually explicit words. Friends and I have been tasked with “gathering evidence” of these players so that hopefully they will get banned. I know that people say to just “move on and ignore”, but as you said, there are CHILDREN on this game who are seeing what these people are saying and will think it’s okay to say those things because that person is gathering attention on their favorite game. I’ve seen it live where other kids in Global will “jump on the bandwagon” and begin to use the same slurs. We NEED a proper report function in the game, because this kind of thing can’t keep going ignored. Children’s safety is at risk and they’re being influenced. A really bad look on SSO as a company!! The community is TIRED!

No I totally get it, it has happened to me where I was just doing an RP and they started to say some stuff that shouldn't even be on a kids game. Thank you for speaking up about this issue! this issue is the reason i moved to a smaller more quiet server and now some ppl from the bigger servers are slowly trickling over and starting the cycle all over again. and the worst part about it is the younger kids don't realise its bad and feed into it or flat out do it themselves because "well there doing that in chat so that must mean it ok for me to do it in chat" type of deal. and as the adult in the situation (/ just trying to be the bigger person) i usually ignore and move on but theres times where i have to say something and shut that conversation down because its going too far, its usually with a "this is not the time or the place for this conversation". but apparently the amount of people that get upset with me for saying something vastly outweighs the ppl that agree with me. I've taken to reporting them all silently, i've got a multiple page google doc with all of my reports i've sent in w/ chat screenshots so if i need to report them a second time i can copy past what i already had and add on to it.

I don’t talk or play with anyone on Star Stable. I rarely open up Global chat. I have seen every once in a while inappropriate stuff in chat cuz again I rarely open it. Star Stable just doesn’t care at this point. Like idk if anyone has noticed but their content that they have been releasing is really stale and re-used stuff. They just focus on releasing new horses now cuz new horses generate them more revenue cuz that’s all they care about now. They even added a feature to level up ur horse instantly by paying with star coins cuz everyone kept whining that they kept releasing new horses and didn’t give players a decent amount of time to level up their current horses. It’s all about money with them now. I used to log in everyday but now I only log in when I’m super bored and don’t have anything else to do.

sometimes when im live showing with my friends we'll try to celebrate and hype up each other and sso filters it.... I'll try to say something like "YESSSSS" and itll filter it but then ill take off one S and it lets me say it. idk i could probably think of other examples but thats the first one that comes to mind, it's just so ridiculous

7:05 I have one of my accounts on australian server so I thought that they finally added it. I was just so mad after I realized I couldn't report a homophobic girl directly in game on my european account and I gave up. This button really helps A LOT, I don't know why they still keep it in beta.

This happens on the polish servers too! The global chat is only active when there are edgy teens picking on others, cursing in each sentence. The most annoying part is that you can't report them. I believe the chat should be open only for players who are higher level than 6, or they should add a way to confirm someone's age (like in Roblox I believe). I would never guess COD has better moderation than a game which targets kids.

i’ve been playing star stable for about 5 years now and in that 5 years i have never opened global chat. the only reason i haven’t is because i’ve seen from other content creators what happens and i’m terrified of it. it’s to the point where i go on strike from star stable because of the chat or just feeling unsafe or uncomfortable in the server. sso really needs to address it but we all know they never will

As if you took the words out of my mouth! Thank you! I had to put a disgusting discussion about lgbtq hate which turned in to a discussion about war to an end. Im surprised i managed to succeed in that but this happens atleast once every hour. Like stop! We have technically outgrown this game so we should set an example for the children on this game who this game is actually meant for. We are allowed to play ofcourse especially us should make sure this game is safe for others! We grew up with this game and should make it possible to have these children grow up with it as well in a safe and welcoming way! I’ll even volunteer to be a game master or live moderator or whatever it’s called! This needs to stop!

I honestly don't even get on SSO anymore, but Karen (that's what I've been calling her) the new chat filter is really a piece of trash, I don't even say a bad word and get "Your message failed to send." And since this video a month ago, there was a pred case on SSO, and SSO has added a report player feature in american servers. But every time I get on, I really question on why I insist on staying on Night Star, despite that Night Star is my home server, I used to go across all the servers when I used to be active in SSO. They either need to bring in better moderation, or bring in specific servers for just adult players still with some moderation but are still not allowed to use slurs, etc, SOMETHING bc this is honestly all so ridiculous, especially for people who are trying to play the game in peace or roleplay (imagine trying to roleplay and everything is literally censored). I just can't with chat anymore, I lurk in chat, but eventually I get tired of looking at all the literal bullshit, and close, people have taken to using words like lasso, necklace, puppy and spamming it in a sentence in order to throw off the filter and bypass it. I feel that your anger is completely valid, and agree!

What really infuriates me is that these people are over here saying all this inappropriate things and me over here during a flat show can barely say my show name. It really makes me mad and I have messaged SSO about it too many times to count and guess what they have done? NOTHING! I go to school with people that act like this so I am not really that new to it and it just annoys me that there are literal children that play this game and no one cares. I seriously hope they fix this because this is why I hate the new generation of starstable.
