Star Toy really needs to make an Astrotrain. I got the FT one but I just don't care for it. Not to mention the color of both are not indicative to me of the anime. BTW, look @5:04

I'm guessing nobody has actually tried using this video yet. It's the official instructions and it's backwards, he comes packed in robot mode and this video goes from tank to jet to robot. Wtf? The robot mode is also mistransformed, where is the cannon?

Mmmh, what masterful engineering. That DX9 version's tank mode just sucks in comparison. This figure has been beautifully designed; two of the three modes are very cartoon accurate and even the jet mode is not that far off. Problem is, I don't remember this character from the cartoon at all. Of course, that alone would not be reason enough for me to not buy this, since I would really like trying to transform this, but unfortunately I don't have any space for in my shelves, either. So I think I will have to pass this by.

Imma be honest, I still prefer the Dx9. He's bigger and more imposing, I think he looks better overall, I think the accessories look better too, the transformation looks more fun, and the robot and jet mode have less kibble. I think the only areas where this wins are in tank mode and poseability.

DX9's jet and robot modes are absolutely perfect, and tank is acceptable. This one... exists. I guess if you missed out on Gewalt a few months back when it was $100, this would be okay, but ultimately this is just a consolation prize.

@@theholo-library4020this depends what you want, this figure is cartoon accurate, dx9 is not, that’s why I sold my dx9 and got this one. Not that the dx9 isn’t nice, it is. This just looks the part better

Star Toys got the tank color right, and jet color wrong (purple). KFC got the tank color wrong and the jet color right.

I'm hopeful that the purple is correct in person. Purple always shifts tones on camera.

I like how the color is always wrong on all these figures. Magic voodoo engineering but matching the color to the cartoon is impossible for these guys. They would say, "Mama never let us play with coloring book."

Wrong in what way? The bot mode looks very faithful to the animation model, and the alt modes, while constrained by the limitations of being a physical product, rather than a drawing, aren't a million miles off. Are you saying the beige is too light or something? It looks way more accurate than the DX9 overall, so not sure what the issue is.

@@MentasmUK I literally said, the colours are wrong, he has never been this dark, he’s always had a vibrant light purple which matches the original toy, this is completely wrong

@@ViewpointProd you provided no context for your colour comments, so the attitude is unwarranted. While the colour of the animation model was lighter, this is yet another figure where people will point to various episodes where the character was darker, so I can see why they did it.
