Good stuff, while not many people choose to remember season 3, it had its share of good episodes. The show is just amazing period.

I do think season 3 was inferior to seasons 1 & 2, but I do disagree with the people who say season 3 was a failure. It had some terrific episodes, and was still a great season, just not quite on par with the first two. Great to see there is some love for this season after all. Long live Star Trek. One of the greatest shows of all time.

Remembering James Doohan, was born on this day (March 3rd 1920).

Very good idea to have the cast do these intros. Koenig is a better actor than the 'wet' Chekov character allowed him to show (although I thought the last few TOS films gave him better relatively better material to work with). Doohan was always great as Montgomery Scott. He had the character down pat just as much as the accent.

His son Chris played in "Star Trek Continues" as Scotty. Better than Simon, Chris did a better job as his father's character.

I agree entirely with Walter Koenig about "The Way To Eden" - worst episode of the original series. And yes, Chekov's transformation to a stick-in-the-mud in that episode was hugely inconsistent, but it was the only time in the series where we got to see Walter Koenig do any serious acting. The final episode "Turnabout Intruder" has also received a lot of flak over the years, some of it richly deserved (the accusations of sexism are valid, but even without that it's poorly paced), but it does have one of Scotty's finest moments in the original series, when he's talking with McCoy in the corridor.
