I bought 1e. The biggest problem I have with STA is the over-writing and editing of the game. The 1e core book had around 72 pages of “what is trek.” FASA’s version was 1 1/3 pages and somehow we managed to get by. I hope 2e is succinct with rules in bold. But, I’m not going to check out 2e until the inevitable reprinting of the rules for TOS, which seems to be Modiphius’ M.O.

Honestly, wasn't a huge fan of 1st ed (I'm also not a big fan of the 2d20 system in general). Played it, bought the Starter Box, it languished on the shelf, and then I sold it and didn't look back. Flat out, Michael D's enthusiasm and directness in this Chat helped sell me on 2nd ed (more, at least). I'll download the Quickstart and give it a whirl! Thanks, Michael. 😁

It would be cool to make a rpg for kids (like how hero kids and other kid focused games, and use Star Trek: Prodigy for its theme!

I haven't watched this yet, so perhaps you address this in the video, but I will ask anyway just in case. I bought STA: Captain's Log because I have long wanted to play Trek, but am almost exclusively playing solo these days. I liked Captain's Log but I was hoping for a bit more granularity than it offers, particularly in differentiating the various ships. I am considering picking up STA 2E and using it with the various oracles and prompts in Captain's Log. Can I assume the 2E is still entirely compatible with Captain's Log? How well do you think this would work? Thanks!

Curious if you all will ever take the current mission PDFs that are offered and put them into a standalone book similar to These are the Voyages?

TBD, honestly. We're focused on new material and new content. We do have a lovely backlist of 40+ standalone adventures and it'd be cool if we get a chance to update them to the 2e ruleset and maybe get them into print.
