Since this seems to be confusing some people, my mention of the Constellation Class was not a mistake. That ship was the Ambassador's direct predecessor in commissioning date. I was not referring to the Enterprise lineage. These videos are always written from an in-universe perspective, not through the lens of what is narratively important to Star Trek. The Enterprise only gets mentioned in it's capacity as an important example of the Ambassador Class.

Who would win: the Scimitar or post-Endgame Voyager?
@VincentVisee4 жыл бұрын
@@csehszlovakze scimitar i would say, voyager was a small and not very heavily armed science vessel. Although the ablative armour would help a lot, it still wouldn't stand a chance against the 52 disruptor banks and 27 torpedo bays of the scimitar. In Star trek online, the transphasic torpedoes were only effective against borg and we never saw them used differently in canon. If they were effective against the scimitar, voyager would win, if not, voyager would be destroyer pretty quickly i would guess with minimal damage to the warbird

@@VincentVisee I never played STO. I've also seen theories about Voyager's sensors being advanced enough so that the Scimitar's "perfect cloak" isn't that good. The reasons are debatable, but it seems no tech from Voyager was ever adapted on a wider scale by Starfleet.

One of the things I love about Trek ships is that everyone says they be tiny compared to other space ships, but when you find out that say, the average Covenant ship generates about 12 terawatts of power and the Warp Core of a Starfleet Galaxy ship generates 12.75 BILLION Gigawatts, you realize that other settings space ships are sort of like 1960’s computers; sure they bigger, but also they’re clunky and inefficient and a Federation vessel manages to be half the size and thousands of times more powerful.

I thought with the ambassador class for most of them at least, that it was the computer that really failed her in the enterprise’s last battle. Hearing that the Klingons were able to send out a distress call that the Enterprise C had answered I'm surprised the Romulan Attackers didn't try to block the signal from reaching any ships nearby like the Enterprise C and I even saw this video on the Battle of Nerendra 3 where it said at the end of the video a fleet of Klingon Warships arrived shortly after the Enterprise was destroyed and her surviving crewmembers were taken prison including a Starfleet officer from 22 years into the future and the most heart wrenching scene from that video was seeing the Enterprise C's dedication plaque floating through space.

The Ambassador-class was the prestige ship of the Federation’s Golden Age. Unfortunately times were so good and the Federation so far ahead of its rivals that there was little need for a Heavy Cruiser. Every exploration or diplomatic role could be handled by smaller or older vessels. Few Ambassadors were ever built and when the Federation finally found itself in need of heavily armed starships the Ambassador was already considered obsolete.

I'm sure I mentioned this in another comment I made but to refresh everyone's minds on the Ambassador Class I saw a video on it called Star Trek Truth or Myth where it talked about the design history of the Ambassador Class and after the destruction of the Enterprise C it was discovered that the Ambassador Class had several design flaws one of which was it's computer systems which were still using the old Duotronic computer designs which by the time the Ambassador Class came into service was a century out of date and the new Isolinear computer systems were being developed and sadly that was the problem for the class as it's computers were a hybrid of both systems and it was because of that that was the cause of the Enterprise C's destruction because it said in that video I mentioned that the Battle of Nerendra 3 should have been in the favor of the Enterprise and her crew as it said the Ambassador Class U.S.S. Enterprise was not only more maneuverable than the Romulan Warships but it was also more powerful and more technologically advanced so if it hadn't been for that design flaw in it's computers the Enterprise C would have won and survived the Battle of Nerendra 3 and would most likely also would still be considered heroes by the Klingons.

It's hard to believe the width of this ship was almost equal to the length of the Constitution Class in it's original configuration the only difference was about 6 meters and it sure would be nice to see a Star Trek series about both the Excelsior Refit Class U.S S. Enterprise NCC-1701-B and the Ambassador Class U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C since they did a prequel series of Star Trek about the NX-01 Enterprise so it would be nice to see t.v. shows about the 2 ships that served between Kirk's ship and Picard's ship.

Well...even funnier is that you could nearly park a Sovereign without Nacelles and Pylons into the SAUCER of a Galaxy class vessel^^

Yeah but remember the Galaxy Class was designed and built with families in mind which is why it's saucer section is about 230 meters wider than the saucer section of the Sovereign Class and the Sovereign Class also has a neck structure similar to that of the Intrepid Class which explains the size difference between the 2 ship classes with the Galaxy Class being over 640 meters in length while the Sovereign Class is nearly 700 meters in length.

I haven't watched much of Star trek but I've seen this one episode.
