Playing as the Ferengi is really rewarding. You start out extremely weak, but as soon as your economic empire starts to blow up and you can buy whole fleets in a matter of rounds, everyone bows to you, despite the Ferengi ships being awfully weak.

The earlier you start,, the more that economy is worth. Being able to buy your colonies into prosperity and buy-out minors can be huge.

@@Bloodlyshiva I found out quickly that finding the Tamarians/Children of Tama but waiting for them to build up a fleet of like, 6-7 of their super ships is like a Disc 1 Nuke because you can just shower them with money and trade routes. Ferangi are so op at converting minor races more than the Federation because of all the morale bonuses and vast income, money can do anything in this game. Then you can be running around the early game with a fleet of effective Galaxy class cruiser while everyone still has scouts and subjugate or destroy one of the bigger races/event enemies by filling the Tama death fleet with your own fodder as support.

@@TheKnightOfSmite ... you can bribe the galaxy into joining. Ferenginar has this building where you get 5 extra trade routs, and you don't need friendship contract to trade with somebody.. later when you build holodeck and private farm you get +2 moral each round. and then you build Disneyland. sorry wanted to say Fantasyland..for an extra +1 moral per round in every star system..

I played the ferengi myself. Buy everything. Ferengi ships suck for everything except torpedoes, so have overwhelming numbers (which you can buy).
