Star Trek Bridge Commander - USS Excelsior

Today's starship spotlight is the USS Excelsior. The Excelsior is the prototype of the Excelsior-class starships, initially designed to test the experimental transwarp drive. Launched in 2284, the Excelsior was first commanded by Captain Styles. It was famously dubbed “The Great Experiment” due to its transwarp drive, which ultimately failed during its initial trials. In 2290, Captain Hikaru Sulu took command of the Excelsior. Under his leadership, the ship embarked on a three-year mission cataloging planetary anomalies in the Beta Quadrant. The Excelsior played a crucial role in the events leading up to the Khitomer Peace Conference in 2293, assisting the USS Enterprise-A and preventing the assassination of Klingon Chancellor Azetbur.
