The amount of love you poured into this review is present in every frame, bow to stern. From the shot you created of her in drydock to the crew watching the Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, this was a thing of beauty. Thank you again for the very touching dedication and for all the journeys, past, present, and future.🖖

I remember thinking they were dorky figures, and maybe I still feel that way, to an extent. But they certainly created an amazing toy Enterprise... the core that switches power on and off, the sounds, the chairs being faithfully recreated and everything. Got to respect that level of commitment, and also that they stay true to their character style, working with what they like instead of trying to chase the currently hip, cool, popular thing and ending up a lame copy of some better-known thing.^^

My daughter bought me this for Christmas/birthday. She, my Mom and I really enjoyed putting it together, and It makes me smile every time I look at my dining room table. I've even made custom Klingons & Gorns. I really hope we see a shuttlecraft, a Sickbay & Transporter room playsets, and aliens! I'd LOVE to see a Klingon Battlecrusier.

The Playmobil Enterprise is out of my price range, but I have an Ecto 1, a Delorean, a Ghostbusters Headquarters, and several of the smaller licensed sets. They're just good, fun toys. They're made well, have tons of play value, and look great.

@@sunnyfrisch agreed. They have become more expensive, and are now at the limit of what I (personally) would call fair pricing, unlike LEGO, whose prices just became ridiculous. True, you can find the Enterprise for 299,- at certain websites and in certain shops. Same as with most of their items. I always wait a few months and then buy their products, did so with BTTF, Ghostbusters, A-Team and will do so again with Knight Rider.

I have the Galoob 3 3/4 scale Enterprise D prototype that includes the bridge, engineering section, medical bay and working transporter room. It’s an amazing toy that sadly never made it to market because of poor ratings of the first two seasons of ST:TNG. That said, I recently picked up this Playmobil Enterprise and it is a true beauty. As a playset person, and former Galoob designer, it does the Enterprise proud. This thing is a pure piece of art that somehow got made in this sadly declining world of large scale, large tooling toys. Playmobil is the only toy company that knows that playsets still have a place in the hearts of kids and collectors alike. Thank you for posting this video and echoing my thoughts about this piece and your continued love of playsets.

Mr. T in the Time Machine is a show I would definitely watch. Also, I definitely see the lack of secure seating as a feature. When you shook the Enterprise and all went flying around the bridge, it looked VERY accurate to the show. I love the look of this toy. I hope to get it some day.

Great video, and I 100% agree with the "fun" of putting this together. I was so impressed with the instructions and placing the (amazingly accurate) stickers on the bridge was a labor of love for this classic trek fan. You can really tell that the company LOVES the properties they license, and spare no expense at the "big bet" of making the best toy they can for each and every one. I really hope your video encourages more folks to buy this set. Because, like you, I want a Playmobil scale refit Enterprise!

Totally agree! Could you just imagine the figures in monster maroon uniforms. Sweet! That said, I’d love to see them expand the line with baby steps. It would be amazing if Playmobil add a play set of the transporter room and sickbay (also with lights and sounds); including figures like Nurse Chapel, Mr. Kyle, Khan, and maybe a little NOMAD on top of a translucent stand. Playmobil also has add on sets or bundles, like a 3 figure set of a male/female from each department (bonus points for having the figures roughly resemble the DS9 crew from Trials and Tribble-ations), and an alien pack with a Klingon, Romulan, and Gorn. They could even do Galileo Seven with crew. Oh, to dream!!!

Love this video. RetroBlasting's production values shine. There was a Star Trek knock-off-Lego series that came out for the first couple of reboot movies - Kreo. It was right when Lego had lost the patent protection of their bricks' 'studs & tubes' clutch mechanism, and suddenly everyone and their granny were making knock-off Lego-compatible building brick toys. Kreo was Hasbro. Anyway, they had a USS Enterprise where you could open the saucer to reveal seating for about five 'Kreons', their version of Lego Minifigs. There were a few other sets - a USS Vengeance from Into Darkness, a Klingon Bird of Prey from the same film, as well as an Enterprise & Klingon Battle Cruiser set; a shuttlecraft, and then a couple of dioramas. But they looked awful. Not least because the proportions of the JJ-Verse Enterprise are hideous, but because they were trying to do it in Lego to a small scale, which just looks equally awful. Couldn't have sold very well, because they only did those few sets and then the line died.

Same!!! This is arguably the greatest Playmobil thing I think I have EVER seen! It's like every other feature had me literally like 😮😮😮😮. I literally was not prepared for the greatness of this review! And yeah, if this was around when we were kids, I would have bagged my parents to get it for me. (Given the price point, I would have probably ZERO chance of actually getting it! Hahahaha, but I would have given it my best shot!😄) I think to celebrate the greatness of this review and WORTHY homage to the Original Series, (and myself as being a proud DS9er!) I think I'm going to bring those proverbial worlds together and go rewatch....."Trials and Tribblelations"!

They probably could get the license if they really tried, but with all the competition in Star Wars toys, especially trying to compete against LEGO, it would probably be wise to stay in their corner, and tackle licenses others don’t have, or produce many products for.

How wonderful to have this company that has the guts to go where no-one has gone before!!! A truly great toy company that never disappoints!! The figures identify this range-- leave them alone. To seat them just stick magnets on their bums and a washer glued to the seats,(which are literally banned by the toy trade, how far do people want to go?). Great entertaining promo feature AGAIN, so keep these coming!!!
@loganjorgensen
@loganjorgensen 2 жыл бұрын
They are totally nailing it with not just these licenses but toy design in general, with so many companies it's like they've forgotten what toys are at the core. I completely agree about that false expectation "You want Playmobil to do what, are you crazy?". O_o??? I've enjoyed their figures picking up some from each of the waves sometimes, think they've evolved well. Do kind of wish for more "eye twinkle" like their movie characters but it's been a point of contention breaking from the original simple faces. Personally I'd like to see more flourishes like modern Lego in the face prints at least for the licensed sets, think that might help increase their general appeal.

I loved Playmobil in the late 70s early 80s , I had the fire engine ,fire station and a police bike and car with the police station , the fire engine was a birthday present ( my birthday is in the first week of November) I must have played with the fire engine none stop throughout November because the presents Santa left were a massive fire station with some figures and a police bike and car each with the driver and s police station with a couple of cops and two baddies I could put into the cell, they were so well made and stood up to real playing , I have to say I love all the new TV stuff Playmobil make and in my opinion Playmobil did the right thing sticking to their long established and successful figure design , the fact that they are super strong and can survive any drop from the bedroom window , playmobil have shown all the other toy companies how it should be done .

Videos like this are what set y'all above the typical KZbin toy channels. I still have my mego Enterprise bridge play set from the 70s. How I would have loved this as a kid. I kind of love it now lol

This has been teased for months while Indy realized it's vision. This is a home run. Playmobil is the future of vintage reimaginings. The illustrious Michael French strikes gold again.

The level of awe you describe I experienced with Playmobil Asterix sets. I never intended to collect Playmobil but I am pretty hooked now. Incoming Magnum P.I. Ferrari looks also like a perfect representation of the show.

I would not know playmobile existed save for these videos… thanks for keeping me in the know. I missed it all in my childhood and it looks like I can get the toys I wanted in the 80’s and did not exist for my kids… and Mr T can help Marty with the DeLorean and Spock can drive the A-Team van.

I've never bought into Playmobil as a child - not out of spite but more apathy and disinterest to a line I was unfamiliar with. But I have to give credit where I see it. And this monument of engineering and wish fulfillment deserves every iota of praise thrown at it. This is a perfect recreation of the original Star Trek Enterprise as we all wanted it. The circular array of lights on the nacelles alone throw me back to the Original Series. A spectacular toy that I would love to own and display.

Wow!! She’s just so beautiful 🥹 Thank you for the excellent review. I agree that PlayMobil is knocking it out of the park lately and I commend them. I’m so glad you enjoyed building the ship. That’s such a great feeling being excited as you assemble a toy. I feel that Mattel is almost there with the MOTU origins line but overall, the other companies (particularly HasBroken) really need to take a page out of the Playmobil playbook.

I REALLY want one of these. If I could just afford one.😅 IMO Playmobil is just as cool as Lego and has great play factor for kids with its usual great build quality from my exp. Its unfortunate that its getting just as expensive as Lego. I didn't have as much Playmobil stuff as a kid than anything else. Probably cause allot of it was generic stuff not tied to a property back then but man that stuff held up. When my mom and I gathered it up and cleaned it up to parcel out to my Brothers' kids it was all in fantastic shape minus some paint applications. Man I loved the Playmobil vehicles. The figures felt weird compared to GI joes back then but damn if you wanted a good ambulance. Patrol car or firetruck toy back then you couldn't go wrong with Playmobil.

Awesome! That's damn nice! I'm sure they won't do it, but how about the refit Enterprise from STII, with the updated red uniforms? And then a second ship, the Reliant! With Kahn & Company... Whaddyathink?

Man, that is one AMAZING toy that I'd love to send to my younger self, even like in the late 90's. 😎 Wasn't someone making youtube videos with this thing lately? Did I dream that? 😆

I’m not a playmobil fan, I’m not big on action figures or licensed themes, but this thing is great. It feels like a time capsule in the best way, it’s like looking at a brand new toy from the 70’s or something. There’s something special about that I think

This is a excellent product . The only way you can or could get a close scale for 3.75 in figure is to make the Ship yourself. Using either Foam or cardboard which I did . Now for this , it only had the bridge, medical quarters , engine room . Like Play Mobile, the saucer was the use of the bridge , the engine and medical quarters were on the second level BUT , I was able to use a paper towel roll , and a fitted cut dowl with slide action the hydrolift, which went down from the bridge to engineering . it was 4.5 ft long a foot high . I had taken the bridge play set of generation 2 and converted it to fit also using at the time plexiglass and Christmas lights. I was 12 you guys come on ... lol plexiglass and markers kicked butt. So I respect this toy line in a major way . thanks for doing this Vid !

Kudos for being the first american I hear that so openly and thoroughly appreciates Playmobil. I guess many people in the USA can't come to terms with the figure design (born in 1974, four years before Lego's) because in your country there's no nostalgia for them.
