Love that part about the lullaby. My theory is that whatever blew up the dilithium also put that song in everyone's head. Some kind of frequency broadcast on some level galaxy wide that did that to the dilithium also left that song in ppl's head. analyze that song and it may give you a clue to who was behind the burn.

How could Starfleet not figure out what happened to the dilithium crystals after they exploded I'm guessing whoever caused the dilithium to explode had the power to somehow alter the minds and memories of everyone in the universe I bet that the Terran universe is responsible the fact that copies of individuals from each universe exist in each universe makes it possible to somehow connect the minds of both universes as a conduit to each other the end game would be to cause a neural link and wipe the memory of everyone in implant new ones

7:37 I quite liked this little bit of friction between Seru and Burnham about working around it and doing it their own way Vs following the system and showing they can follow protocol because I feel like it touches back to the very first episode with the Battle at the Binary Stars, as Captain Georgiou wants to do introduce herself to the Klingons by the book and with the system but Burnham thinks she should do it her own way and takes matters into her own hand. I quite like how things go full circle because it shows some growth with Burnham as last time she was in a situation like this, she took matters into her own hand and things went very wrong but now she's willing to listen to the captain and follow on realising that even though she thinks they should be doing things differently, acting out on her own accord is not the best idea. Instead, they are all stuck in some kind of simulation and Michael notices the breadcrumbs of that over the course of this season. So we're 5 episodes in and we haven't seen or heard anything about the Romulans, whose ships are powered by a quantum singularity and wouldn't have been affected by the burn. I thought they might have been behind the burn, but if it was a simple power grab, they would have had more than enough firepower to finish off Starfleet and take control of the quadrant. Note; the Tal Shiar had a fleet of 200+ ships in the Picard season 1 finale and one would assume their numbers have drastically increased in the 800 years leading up to the burn. I'm thinking Cronenberg is probably the head of Section 31, and they kept a copy of Control because they're arrogant enough to believe they could keep it contained. Control eventually escapes (or takes over Section 31, again), triggers the burn and waits patiently for Discovery to show up. That's the kind of plot twist that I would expect from some lazy script writers. A slightly less lazy plot thread would be the Discovery crew forgetting to cull Airiam's implants before her funeral, centuries later a salvage vessel finds her coffin drifting in space. When the crew extracts Airiam's hard drive, Control takes over the ship and it's crew and again triggers the burn. Either way, Control then has a century to strategically place itself somewhere inside the remnants of Starfleet, knowing that when Discovery finally makes it to the future that they would try to make contact. I really hope it's not Control, that the melody is the key to the burn and it somehow ties in with Michael's mother being MIA.

I did dome mental maths and based on the fact that they went through 10 enterprises in 3 centuries (1701 to 1701-j spanning the mid 23rd century to mid 26th century). from the 26th to 32nd century we would go through roughly 21 enterprises. that is a total of 31 letters so unless thy slowed down they would have exhausted the alphabet. but if they slowed down then the enterprise could still exist. what I'm saying is that seeing the USS Enterprise 1701-Z is a possibility.

The Voyager-J has to be a reference to the Enterprise-J from the show Enterprise. If there was an Enterprise by then, it’d have to be an Enterprise-T or U by then (Off the top of my head) And they did mention a new Constitution class, but that reference must be from what they know about it from the Discovery’s (their) time. The Original Enterprise. Hope that all makes sense. ❤️

Discovery definitely needs an overhaul to be able to keep up with ships 900yrs newer. Sheilds, Torpedoes, phasers.....or whatever they are using in that time.

I also enjoyed this epside and the way it was shot and edited reminded me of watching a TNG episode. It was god to see the Doctor and Nhan in more detail with their characters. Being a security officer on the Discovery seems to be a curse, aren#t there very long haha. There was also enough mystery for the different characters as an ongoing background story for the season - still want to know if they will retrofit the discovery at least with modern transporter tech and shields?

You missed the USS Nog, it was just a brief flash as they pasted by once inside.

I wish there was a better looking Discovery. Not impressed really, like 1980s boxy cars in UK.

The seed ship shouldn't be that much of a surprise. Earth has a seed repository in Antarctica, I believe. It's a crucial element to human survival in the event of a widespread catastrophic event.

It's actually in Sweden.

@@augiegirl1 thanks for educating me on that. I knew it was somewhere...just wasn't completely sure where.

How does Discovery know about Voyager as Voyager was commissioned long after Discovery had gone forward in time?
@TrekCentral4 жыл бұрын
I doubt they know about Voyaver, likely just going “oh look a cool ship”

I Waited for over two decades to see an Andromeda reboot and this is what they came up with ?

Doesn't retrofit mean to make something older? Why didn't the admiral say he was going to refit Discovery?
@dstmars14 жыл бұрын
So why is the Discovery crew still wearing 1000 yr old uniforms? Given that uniforms have been produced with replicator it would make sense that the Disco crew fall in line with current Starfleet dress codes.

Didnt like season 1 and 2 all that much but stuck with it, season 3 has been very very good so far to the point where it almost feels like a soft reboot of Disco, i like the softer kinder Michael Burnham.

I was thinking about the burn could Q have started it

I agree. What if the Q were trying to stop the Federation from going the wrong way so that they can be given a boost in their development.

CBS and Paramount should create a web series that are Trek stories from the past using all the hundreds if not thousands of hours of fan made films as distorted records from the 900+yrs that have elapsed on Discovery. And if CBS was really smart they would even show the fan film and Segway into sponsored episode that are produced on budget by CBS. But hey what do we trekkies know about what Star Trek should be.

I will agree that Discovery is getting better but I'm tired of it being The Michael Burnham Show. There are so many wonderful actors and characters but it's potential is being severely limited by focusing mainly on one character.

This seems like the federations and MANY other races have gone into a paranoid, robotic nature. I thought to myself... How did starfleet not think of the Seed ship... okay I get it Michael is carrying the plot flag.. but COME ON. Replicators.. can you replicate the seeds? is everything located ON the seed ship. Okay lets keep some of this open for Plot sakes.. and an excuse to use the spore drive. They gotta SHOW them how it works... but this is like the asgard coming to ask the Tauri for help because they no longer think stupid.
