I always thought it should have been renamed the USS Picard. Would have made a huge impact on the ending.

What about the invincible class its stated to be stronger than the inquiry class which seems like the other main contender

I loved the look of the NX class. Simple, purposeful and loved how it felt like a submarine as compared to the newer star ships. I wish Enterprise had 7 season like the 3 previous ST shows. I would have loved seeing the refit in action.

Maybe just maybe a Excelsior II class USS Excelsior

Hmm for which version... a toss up between the Constellation class and the Sagan class. HOWEVER if I really had to choose ....MAYBE the Sagan class.

if they were gonna put an engineering hull on there with a deflector dish, they should have taken the smaller one off the saucer

Not a popular opinion, i suppose, but the Excelsior class ship has always been my favorite starship, so when i saw the Enterprise B, it won my heart.

Ironically, Worf 359, the single biggest defeat the Federation had suffered in over a century, was what ultimately saved the Federation. The Borg curb stomping the Federation was the swift kick in the ass the Federation needed to realize that they didn’t have the necessary fleet to deal with threats beyond the standard enemies they were used to facing. The rapid modernization and upgrading of their fleet prepared the Federation for the arrival of the Dominion, who no doubt would have easily rolled over them if they didn’t have the new fleet to face them.

Most of the criticism of the show seems to center on the characters Like Burnham's ridiculous ability to instantly understand and solve any problem or most other characters' sort of anti-charisma But listening to this recap, we can see that even if the characters were on point the story lines would have dragged the show down anyway It really seems like the creators/writers sat down and said - what do we know about the Star Trek universe and the way it functions? Cool, let's throw that out and do spore drives, the burn, poorly lit ships and stuff like that

I do find it annoying how every character has to at some point run across, met, aided, or somehow interracted with Kirk, or someone from the Enterprise... even helping to create the ship in Trip's case. Its all a little TOO fan-servicey.

When you look at the type of starships present at Wolf 359 you realize very quickly how woefully underprepared Starfleet was at the time for a major military threat. How complacent and comfortable they'd gotten with the Kingons being allies, the Romulans in hiding, and there being no real local power that could challenge the Federation. Then fast forward to the battle of Sector 001 and the caliber of ships there only like a decade later and the fact that by the time the Enterprise showed up Starfleet had actually succeeded in doing major damage to the Borg cube, it just took a final concentration of fire in the right place to finish it off. It starts to become clear that Q did humanity a huge favor in the long run by formally introducing them to the Borg.

I always thought tieing the BORG to Star Treck the motion picture and VIGR would make a good storyline. The merging of biological entities with the technology of what ever civilization returned the voyager probe sentient and searching for its god/creator.

Consider that the Federation had just had two major wars, against the Borg and the Dominion. A huge number of ships were destroyed in those wars. To rebuild the fleet quickly, making a lot of a few models of ships would make sense. That's my fictional reason for the fictional cut-and-paste fleet.

an Interstellar alliance cant even deploy more than 35 ships? Federation is a fucking joke.

Star Trek special effects guru's build and scrap ships for a single episode with no intention of saving them away for history, the fans say, "We'll take it from here."

Wow, that is horrible writing. They have an engineer doing all this crazy stuff for the sake of doing crazy stuff because he is named character. Taboo is slapped a good old section 31 Band-Aid on something when they need something to be done
