Although the information on the Dominion war is pretty solid there is one thing wrong you said Shanzan was left to be a slave after the plan concerning him was abandoned He wasn't consigned to slavery he was in actually consigned to the dilithium mines of Remus and left to die but this was before he fought on the side of the remans in the Dominion war what happened to him between the end of the war and the assassination of the Romulan Senate is mostly unknown. I did notice that there was no mention of Reman involvement in the Dominion war in the video even though it was mentioned in Star Trek Nemesis that the Romulus used the Remans as frontline troops rather snarkerly refered to as cannon fodder.

@Cian McCabe one of the big problems with discussions like this is that track does not seem to give us reliable maps in any Canon sources. What maps have been provided in various books and stuff directly contradict many lines in the shows. For example, in "in the pale moonlight" they are talking about how Dominion chips are crossing through romulan territory to attack the federation behind their lines, but in this map (which is very similar to most naps that I see people using) that couldn't be possible considering where romulan space is compared to Dominion space... Unless they had taken enough territory in between, but if they had cut off such a large chunk of the federation for the rest that presumably would have been brought up in dialogue at some point...not to mention that the federation pretty much loses the war immediately at that point.

One thing I never understood about when the federation pulled out of DS9 is why O'Brian never let the "pup" loose on the station to undermine the occupation force's attempts to run the station. Granted, it would've been the fault of the writers for forgetting about it, but as a strategy it would've been ideal - particularly if the Bajorans on the station covered up for the pup program.

You know what’s crazy about the Dominion? They were almost completely untouched by the fighting. After losing their ships in the worm hole, they still brought the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans to their knees using ONLY secondary Alpha quadrant powers. If the Dominion truly wanted to, it could crush every Alpha and Beta quadrant power in an instant if it were using its own ships and resources and brought its full military might to bear against them.

Great review of the Dominion War. The writers took a chance doing this on DS9 and not making it just two episodes but span the rest of the series. It was a prescience in television and changed it for all time. The Star Trek writers today wish they could come up with something this good. I just wish we would’ve known more about how the Cardassians adjust after the series was over and what happened with Wolf’s brother.

Terrific summary! With so much plot information to condense it is great to see this presented so well. If there is ever revised version, however, please include a mention of the raid by the Defiant early in the war that destroyed the secret Dominion Sensor Array in the Argolis Cluster. It’s use by the Dominion was pivotal to their early victories in the war giving them surveillance coverage over 5 sectors and what allowed them to turn back the Federation-Klingon Alliance initial counterattacks.

Ridiculous that the Enterprise, the FLAG SHIP, wasn't a part of the largest war in Star Trek history
@brummyuk-d6f4 ай бұрын
Makes total sense. You don't want your flagship on the front lines, if they are destroyed it would be a devastating blow to moral across the Federation as well as losing one of your best ships. Better to use the Flagship of the Federation as a show of strength when engaging in diplomacy with other empires. Remember, the Federation was desperately looking for support during the war, so much so they even allowed a race that had only just developed warp drive into the Federation. Picard is much better at diplomacy than any other Captain, so best to use him and his ship for what he is best at. The Enterprise is just too valuable an assets to risk losing on the front lines.

This is pretty good overall, although like Garak in the series, it ignores that Senator Vreenak and the criminal were not the only two to die in that situation: so did Vreenak's guards/aides/pilot/etc. Also, I don't remember any mention of Section 31 and the morphogenic virus disease affecting the Founders, until the mention of Odo curing the Female Founder. And it turned out that the Prophets hadn't merely "accepted" Sisko as their "Emissary:" They had actually created him to start with, just for that purpose. And also, there was no mention of the Pah Wraiths throughout the whole thing.
